No, Sheridan Redevelopers LLC is BOK Park Plaza.

We really need to get back to discuss BancFirst. There are threads for those other projects.

and Sheridan Redevelopers LLC also fully links to Devon

BancFirst tower is owned by BFTOWER LLC which links to BancFirst

Oh yeh... it was really confusing what tower everyone was talking about. Silly me. The name on the thread means nothing. lol.

so essentially, Devon has blessed OKC with 2 major skyscrapers in the 2010 decade.

Anybody know if the LEDs will run the length of the tower or just be on the crown?

Their design submittal says just the crown.

Have way too much time on my hands during quarantine so I made a little rendition of Bfirst tower. Not perfect but gives an idea of what it might look like at night with the new LEDs and updated glass.

Hard to tell but they have window-washing like units rigged on top of the lobby on the north side of the building (last photo below) and they have long leads that are anchored on the roof. Looks like they may be starting glasswork there soon.

The lobby itself is getting mullions installed to handle the new clear glass which should be going in soon.

You can see in the third and fourth photos (north face) an example of how they plan to cover the stone mullions with blue aluminum:

The wider ones are unpolished granite.

Although I like the new blue color, covering granite with blue aluminum reminds me of the 60's when beautiful solid oak floors were covered with a more modern shag carpet lol

Some of the rooms were but the overall facility is very dated in my opinion. Especially the lobby and main ballroom

Actually, I think they are just some sort of stucco. Up close (out my window), they look a lot like a popcorn ceiling. I guess they could be granite, but I don't think so.

lots of tall buildings are clad with natural stone and even bricks though

I think these are natural, iirc they made a big deal about the stone in one of the old construction films

Granite -- both polished and unpolished -- is a very common building material for the exterior of office buildings because it's incredibly durable.

Is that the actual glass, or is the glass covered with a protective coating until installed? The surface doesn't look smooth and shiny enough for glass. Not sure that's the eventual color.

Tried to get some better photos. I think the glass not installed yet may be for the lobby, as it doesn't look as blue as the hung pieces.

So sad. I hate to see a loss of the international style to a bland glass tower. We already have two of those with many more soon to be built. My only gripe with Devon is that Main Street should have passed below it but that’s done and done.

This building sure needs an update but it would have nice to see its style preserved.

I was just driving around last night and thinking to myself how great the skyline will look at night once vacancy rates are reduced and the skyline is lit better.

But I was sad to see lack of lighting on Devon Tower. Is that due to the window operation or they only light it up for events? Shame if it’s the latter.

Also, looks like they are installing the new glass from the inside. I am sure they are taking advantage of empty offices right now as mostly everyone is working from home. They probably will push the gas on this while there is not that much people traffic in the tower.

A number of years ago, in fact right after the canal water taxis opened, my wife and I were riding like many others for the novelty of the new boats. A couple from Arizona was on our boat. The woman asked the driver/guide, what is up with that tired looking old high-rise? She was asking about the Liberty Tower or whatever is was called at that time. Like I said that was quite a few years back. I think this upgrade will be a real plus for OKC and our downtown skyline.

Pete

From this angle, you can see the outside glass sits out a bit farther than the original.

I believe that's because they are installing clear glass on the inside, then the blue glass over it.

Yes, although not completely opaque.

Is the blue more mirror like?

Drove by it yesterday. The picture makes it look a lot more mirrored than it is. Any tinted/colored glass will tend to mirror more, but the live view didn't seem overly mirrored or intentionally so. It was less bright blue also. It definitely is a big change, but isn't cartoonishly colored. I think it will look great when finished.

I'm not seeing why the complaints about the color of the glass. It works well against the often wide open sky in the city. And just think of when the sun hits it at Sunset. We've already got four to six buildings that look amazing when the sun's going down.
15993

Now can you imagine what all of this looks like from the southwest when the Omni, the Convention Center, and this project will look like when it's all done? Instead of having that one lonely black glass tower that looks a bit dated, it'll keep up with the modern trend and sunset aesthetic of the city.
