I was looking at my first video from August, and First National had that graffiti back in the summer.

UnFrSaKn 12-19-2010, 04:47 AM I was looking at my first video from August, and First National had that graffiti back in the summer. K5FAL 12-19-2010, 09:19 AM Is anyone going to put together a time-lapse video? animeGhost 12-19-2010, 04:13 PM http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll14/Platemaker_photos/Photo1190.jpg You should copy write this and sell it to the colcord as a stock photo metro 12-19-2010, 07:52 PM He works for the Colcord, doubt his employer would appreciate that. earlywinegareth 12-19-2010, 08:54 PM The thing that strikes me is if the bldg were topped out right now, it would still be a very impressive addition to the skyline. However, since we have 4 others about this same height, I am very glad this one will continue to grow. Platemaker 12-19-2010, 10:00 PM He works for the Colcord, doubt his employer would appreciate that. OUCH! I've been outed! LOL hipsterdoofus 12-20-2010, 12:13 PM Notice on each side of the light posts in the middle of the picture. On the right, Devon, and its elevator cores. On the left, Oklahoma, and the top of its mechanical housing. I took this photo 15 minutes ago on my way to work. Holy cow ...you can barely see in that shot...my view is from much closer...but from the side so you can compare. This morning the boom on the concrete pump I believe was above the penthouse on The OK Tower. Kerry 12-20-2010, 01:14 PM http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a49/DougLoudenback/devon_tower/devon_2010_12_18_06.jpg[/QUOTE] I'm guessing - and this is just a guess, but based on this photo above the design of the top is changing. The final version will now look something like this, only on a larger scale. :ohno: http://images.travelpod.com/users/dianne.kennett/1.1267888821.the-sunsphere-knoxville.jpg or this http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3005/3108081184_f9a23792d5.jpg OKCisOK4me 12-20-2010, 02:32 PM Holy cow ...you can barely see in that shot...my view is from much closer...but from the side so you can compare. This morning the boom on the concrete pump I believe was above the penthouse on The OK Tower. lol, as I stated, it with with my cell phone. Only if I had a $5,000 300mm telephoto lens for my Olympus E-500 dSLR could I get a way better pic from there. Unfortunately, I don't have the change to pick one of those up... Lauri101 12-20-2010, 04:15 PM Taken this morning with IPhone, from IRS building, SW corner office looking due west http://www.flickr.com/photos/lauri101/5276528693/ and http://www.flickr.com/photos/lauri101/5276526495/in/photostream/ and finally http://www.flickr.com/photos/lauri101/5277134772/in/photostream/ I got a new camera for Christmas, so when I get back to work in January, I'll try and get some daylight pictures. I'm shooting from 4th floor, so can't get much of a wide-angle view while this close. Platemaker 12-20-2010, 04:28 PM Kerry... I don't understand why you would think that? SkyWestOKC 12-20-2010, 04:36 PM Kerry, I saw what you did at first and had to scratch my head -- I wondered the same thing. However, it is an optical illusion. The black nets that go around the tower to prevent debris from flying below is masking the floor below the top two. Therefore making the top two floors appear to stick out further than the rest of the tower. Tackleberry 12-20-2010, 05:01 PM ^^I think Kerry was being sarcastic. OKCisOK4me 12-20-2010, 06:53 PM ^^I think Kerry was being sarcastic. I'm gonna go with this too. Each floor constructed has been seen from a different angle. Especially now, since they're casting that downward shadow. I had to look at the pic for a moment too, lol. Kerry 12-20-2010, 07:05 PM Kerry... I don't understand why you would think that? Even though the building has six sides, it kind of has the illusion of being round thanks to the reflective glass. It is starting to look more like a pole than a building and I just imagined a giant sunsphere or UFO at the top (or maybe a teather ball). Doug Loudenback 12-20-2010, 07:11 PM Kerry... I don't understand why you would think that? Nor do I, Kerry, I taking the photo you linked to. The upward progression, as far as I can tell, matches the models we've been presented with. What do you see that I don't, as far as the topping out is concerned. Or were you just kidding? soonerwilliam 12-20-2010, 07:28 PM How in the world would you think that? Troypin 12-20-2010, 08:45 PM This is off topic but i had to ask, how is staying up and watching the lunar eclipse tonight? Next one is in 2014. Kerry 12-20-2010, 09:06 PM Nor do I, Kerry, I taking the photo you linked to. The upward progression, as far as I can tell, matches the models we've been presented with. What do you see that I don't, as far as the topping out is concerned. Or were you just kidding? I was just joking with the topping out change (hence the smiley face). I do think the building is starting to resemble a round structure though. Dulahey 12-21-2010, 06:53 AM Well it is pretty round. What is it? 9 sides? Get up to 8 and more and it's going to look pretty round. earlywinegareth 12-21-2010, 08:55 AM I'd say it is serrated, like a well-cut gemstone. Kerry 12-21-2010, 09:51 AM In that last photo from Doug it looks as round as the 360 at Founders. soonerwilliam 12-21-2010, 02:44 PM Does anyone know who is respondsible for changing the OKC Skyline Cam? It needs to be raised up. The top floors that are being worked on are out of the view of the cam! mOKCie 12-21-2010, 03:07 PM Does anyone know who is respondsible for changing the OKC Skyline Cam? It needs to be raised up. The top floors that are being worked on are out of the view of the cam! Do you mean move the camera to a higher location in the building or do you mean tilt the camera to look higher up? The camera has remained in the same location. Only the zoom and angle have changed. I don't know who the host is, but I'm not sure if he/she alone would be able to move the camera to a higher floor w/o the cooperation of others. Architect2010 12-21-2010, 03:49 PM The Devon tower is already as tall as the Oklahoma Tower, which the camera is in. Meaning, no matter how high up in the tower we move the camera, we still won't be able to see what they're doing on the top floors of the Devon. To get a good view now we would need to have a camera in the Chase. UnFrSaKn 12-21-2010, 05:55 PM Anyone know if the cranes will raise any higher, or will they go up with the building? How tall are the cranes now? OKC@heart 12-22-2010, 12:00 AM Anyone know if the cranes will raise any higher, or will they go up with the building? How tall are the cranes now? Just like they have done to this point, the tower cranes will continue to rise as the floors they are working on get too close to the tower crane booms. That pattern will continue until the structure reaches its full height. I am not sure exactly how tall the cranes are at this point. oklanole 12-22-2010, 12:18 AM Here is a shot I got today from the La Luna parking lot. Sorry about the quality it was from my iPhone. http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5122/5281826111_fa4829a62b_m.jpg UnFrSaKn 12-22-2010, 06:15 AM Just like they have done to this point, the tower cranes will continue to rise as the floors they are working on get too close to the tower crane booms. That pattern will continue until the structure reaches its full height. I am not sure exactly how tall the cranes are at this point. So they will be 900+ feet at the end? I didn't know those cranes could go so tall. I thought they might use a kangaroo crane for the higher floors. dedndcrusr 12-22-2010, 10:01 AM So they will be 900+ feet at the end? I didn't know those cranes could go so tall. I thought they might use a kangaroo crane for the higher floors. Yeah, I remember reading on here a while back that the tower cranes would continue to climb and eventually top out around 1000'. Thunder 12-22-2010, 10:11 AM Took mom to the ER, so here is a night time view from St. Anthony hospital. http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc92/thunderokc/OKC%20Skyline/365204519941_0_0.jpg OKCisOK4me 12-22-2010, 01:06 PM The Devon tower is already as tall as the Oklahoma Tower, which the camera is in. Meaning, no matter how high up in the tower we move the camera, we still won't be able to see what they're doing on the top floors of the Devon. To get a good view now we would need to have a camera in the Chase. He's referring to the 'you must have a Daily Oklahoman subscription to access this cam' cam. It sits on top of the Oklahoma Tower. I sent Steve a message since he has a lot to do with the Skyline cam. That was over two weeks ago and I have yet to hear back from him on the subject. He's been active on here so he must have ignored my request to investigate further (kinda backwards since that's what he does, lol). He may be too busy so I don't know really. But it is annoying because the pic is too grainy and you can't really see the rotunda construction unless they zoom it in. A raised camera would be nice because the construction would pretty much be level with a horizon shot. Everything above that may be a little disorienting because there will be no ground in the shot, just all sky. MadMonk 12-22-2010, 04:54 PM What we need is a cam on the crane! (Not holding my breath on that one) Mike63 12-22-2010, 05:24 PM We need one of those user controlled cams like I have seen at some ski resorts. User gets around a minute to steer the cam and control zoom. (I wont hold my breath either) UnFrSaKn 12-23-2010, 08:04 AM We need one of those user controlled cams like I have seen at some ski resorts. User gets around a minute to steer the cam and control zoom. (I wont hold my breath either) You know, I should have thought of that. This is the best cam I've seen. Colorado is like a second home to me and it's an awesome way to visit virtually. Wouldn't this be great downtown? http://www.littletongov.org/cupolacam/default.asp If you're using Windows 7, you need to right click your desktop, click "Personalize", then from the Windows 7 "Aero" theme, to "Windows 7 Basic" under "Basic and High Contrast Themes". Then refresh the page. I have no idea why this works. That's if it doesn't work for you already. Kerry 12-23-2010, 10:04 AM At www.50states.com there is an extensive live webcam section. While watching a street corner in some small town on Long Island I witnessed a near crash. A car made U-turn right in front of another car and they just missed. This was about 10 years ago which might have made me the first cyber witness had they actually crashed. Who knows, I might have been the one that had to call 911 even though I was a 1000 miles away. The 5 levels where you see the difference in color are because they don't have the windows on yet. Lauri101 12-24-2010, 08:52 AM Great pictures Doug - thanks for posting! Doug Loudenback 12-24-2010, 11:17 AM Thanks, DC and Lauri, and a very Merry Christmas to us all! It seem to me that it is slowing down, but it could just be that it is taller and the taller it gets, the slower it appears. I do want to know if it is true that we have a law that no construction workers can work below 32 outside? My brother's boss said this and it makes sense since he do not work until temp is above 32. OKCisOK4me 12-24-2010, 01:25 PM Ahhh, I didn't think of that! Is the rising still on the same pace? I do want to know if it is true that we have a law that no construction workers can work below 32 outside? My brother's boss said this and it makes sense since he do not work until temp is above 32. I'm positive this past winter probably had several days below 32 degrees. That didn't slow down construction that I know of or remember. There's probably certain variables in place, like wind and conditions. If it's just a crisp cold day, they're working. They're not even working today. The cranes haven't changed position once on the still cam today, so maybe that's what you're thinking of (in regards to the speed at which the construction is going up). SkyWestOKC 12-24-2010, 01:53 PM Maybe Devon let them take a 2 day break for Christmas (Eve and Day). OKCisOK4me 12-24-2010, 03:55 PM Maybe Devon let them take a 2 day break for Christmas (Eve and Day). That is exactly what I'm thinking. Thunder 12-24-2010, 04:14 PM Good for them to take a 2 days break, but was just wondering if there was an actual law passed about outdoor temperature.
