Also, don't forget they have already stated they would like to beef up their midstream operations in the near term. That could be a huge boost in employee count coming very soon.

Praedura 02-28-2013, 11:25 AM Perhaps they'd tear down the IRS building and buy the empty lot next to it, between it and the Robinson Renaissance, and build there and have it connect to the Colcord annex? That would make a lot of sense. But who knows. They still have all that Preftakes area to work with. I think Devon has much more coming for this town in the years ahead. Lauri101 03-01-2013, 07:13 AM Perhaps they'd tear down the IRS building and buy the empty lot next to it, between it and the Robinson Renaissance, and build there and have it connect to the Colcord annex? That would be a problem, since Robinson Renaissance isn't the next building north - Corporate Tower is before RR. And since Devon doesn't own either building, they'll have to pay some big bucks to get them. And since Devon doesn't own either building, they'll have to pay some big bucks to get them. Thanks for correcting, but either way, my point remains, if Devon is the secret buyer, they could easily acquire the vacant field next to IRS, and they have the cash flow to easily do this. No problem here. No problem here. If it's DVN and they acquire 55 N. Robinson and the land north of it, they will have a small buildable footprint due to setbacks. I'm not talking about what might be required by code, I mean what DVN would do for security purposes. Their new tower is intentionally set away from Sheridan for this reason, with a virtually impenetrable series of barriers, gardens, fountains and walls between building and street. Their new tower is intentionally set away from Sheridan for this reason, with a virtually impenetrable series of barriers, gardens, fountains and walls between building and street. its funny you mention that because they actually use some of the trees as part of the barrier ... a guy with a chain saw and 10 seconds could clear a path for a truck to drive through TechArch 03-06-2013, 05:12 PM I was in Bricktown for lunch today and noticed the crane being used on the NE face of the tower working on the lights. Mel 03-06-2013, 05:42 PM I don't know if I can take a pic of this without messing up the camera in my phone, but, in the late afternoon, on a sunny day as your heading east on the Hwy 152 ext. from Mustang the Devon tower looks like the eye of sauron. Praedura 03-11-2013, 12:57 PM Don't know how many of you have noticed that Devon Energy Center has its own website: Devon Energy Center (http://devonenergycenter.net) You can register tours from the site. The thing that caught my attention was the sequence of factoids they run across the top. Here's a couple: "The entire Devon Energy Center complex weighs about 200 million pounds. The tower alone weighs 140 million pounds." "Devon Energy Center has 50 elevators. The total, round-trip distance for all elevators is about 3.5 miles." UnFrSaKn 03-11-2013, 01:29 PM This has been up since October when the building opened. KayneMo 03-11-2013, 02:08 PM If Devon Tower was scaled down to 8.4" tall, it would weigh 140 lbs. edcrunk 03-11-2013, 07:20 PM They been getting busy on the LEDs... Teo9969 03-11-2013, 07:29 PM They been getting busy on the LEDs... Playoffs are getting close...don't have anymore time to waste. Too much good publicity for Devon if that building is doing light shows for the ESPN/TNT cameras. OKCisOK4me 03-11-2013, 09:15 PM Playoffs are getting close...don't have anymore time to waste. Too much good publicity for Devon if that building is doing light shows for the ESPN/TNT cameras. As long as they don't try to spell out Thunder along the height of the building. That looked so elementary the one time they did it... Pete 03-12-2013, 08:31 AM I've noticed they haven't had the LED lights on for several nights -- or at least for a big chunk of the nights. Hopefully they are getting close to finally finishing the lighting. Should be able to do much more than what we've seen when everything is done and programmed. Effectively, each few feet of the fins can be controlled separately and are capable of hundreds of different colors. Looking forward to what they can do. metro 03-12-2013, 09:20 AM They have, but just in the crown, not the indentions. Rover 03-12-2013, 12:35 PM I drove by last night and not only did they have them on, but did a pretty elaborate multi-color display in the indentions, with different floors being different colors in patterns. It looked uber cool. shawnw 03-15-2013, 01:45 AM Some time ago there were requests for video of what's going on with the LEDs. Not sure if that request was fulfilled, but here's a 1-minute, otherwise uneventful, video from about an hour ago: http://youtu.be/u39b4hPaMps OKCisOK4me 03-15-2013, 02:12 AM Did I just waste 41 seconds of my life before finally freeing myself from that video? lol shawnw 03-15-2013, 02:47 AM I did say it was uneventful Praedura 03-19-2013, 01:05 PM Majesty in the mist: http://25.media.tumblr.com/8c000cacd8f29931951d2d4bad430e9c/tumblr_mhx2wjkyQf1qfrwgro1_1280.jpg (photo from February 2013) Source: The Living Daylights (http://thomaswaynewolf.tumblr.com/post/42599320959) Praedura 03-19-2013, 01:07 PM I did say it was uneventful I appreciated the look. You thought outside of the box". http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8526/8578268537_575269bcd7_z.jpg Also, I hadn't seen this on the site so I figured I would snap a pic. It's a nice glass barrier wall with the city skyline in it. It's on the east side of the tower at ground level where you gain access to the elevators to go up to Vast. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8100/8579369502_5023c8117b_z.jpg HOT ROD 03-22-2013, 11:18 AM very nice, and detailed skyline art! Pete 03-22-2013, 02:40 PM Mentioned a week or two ago there was a building permit for a large medical clinic in Corporate Tower which we subsequently tied to Devon. Now, I'm hearing they will be expanding their workout facilities with even more space in Corporate Tower. It seems pretty obvious these are stop-gap measures until they can expand their facilities in the Preftakes block (immediately west of their current campus). We also know there have been open discussions about a new tower for them, although that doesn't seem to be on the fast track at this time. Teo9969 03-22-2013, 02:49 PM Has anybody noticed how the lights are coming? I haven't been down there at night recently to check it out. I hope they're getting close as the playoffs start in under a month. Mr. Cotter 03-22-2013, 03:45 PM Construction has begun on what I assume will be the clinic in Corporate Tower (2nd floor off the skywalk). Jchaser405 03-22-2013, 05:40 PM Has anybody noticed how the lights are coming? I haven't been down there at night recently to check it out. I hope they're getting close as the playoffs start in under a month. I live four blocks west of Devon on Film Row and look at the tower every night as I put the baby to sleep... The lights on the west side still flicker 3/4ths towards the peak and many of the bars are still missing  bchris02 03-25-2013, 10:49 PM Lately, the lights have been completely off. Anybody know whats going on? OKCisOK4me 03-25-2013, 11:41 PM I think it looks good with only the crowns lit. ethansisson 03-26-2013, 11:36 AM I think it looks good with only the crowns lit. Me too. It's nice to be able to see the tower sans the lights sometimes. It makes it easier to appreciate the beauty of the building. I think they're still experimenting with different things to see what they like, but I hope they stick to crown-only most of the time and use the rest of the lights only a couple nights a week. Maybe weekends. Just thinking out loud, I guess. warreng88 03-26-2013, 11:47 AM When it's foggy out, it looks like the Eye of Saruman... hoya 03-26-2013, 11:52 AM When it's foggy out, it looks like the Eye of Saruman... Sauron. Saruman was Christopher Lee. His eyes just look like old man eyes. dankrutka 03-27-2013, 11:27 AM Talked to a guy I know working on the LEDs and he said they've run into a lot of various problems that they're trying to fix. Sounds like they'll still be working on it for a while even though they're cutting back on their electricians from 5 to 3 or less now... adaniel 03-27-2013, 11:29 AM They were definitely testing the LED's last night, which is probably the first time I've seem them on in at least 2 weeks. So hopefully they are getting close. skanaly 04-03-2013, 04:55 PM Well it's about time, finally on Google Earth and Maps 3587 Plutonic Panda 04-03-2013, 04:57 PM Nice!!!!!!!!
