I saw some great aerial pics on channel 9 last night of downtown okc. They were part of the chickasaw nation advertisement. Would love to have some stills of the different views. Can anyone make that happen? Can they be posted on our thread?

Here is an announcement. I can't figure out how to post the pdf format menu, but it looks pretty good.

Everyone can now stop by Aravalli Monday through Friday between 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. for authentic Italian coffee or for breakfast, lunch or a mid-afternoon treat.

Aravalli features a full line of illy-brand espresso-based drinks and breakfast items such as European-style pastries, muffins and scones as well as soups, salads, sushi and sandwiches for lunch. Customers also will be able to order house-made Gelato and dessert items, including crème brulee, mousse and cookies. All food is prepared by Guckenheimer, Devon’s food vendor that manages nebu.

I did it with a basic $50 package I got at Best Buy for my ex... She and her kids were on a beach and there were other people in the waves behind them that I erased. Pretty cool the difference.

People do it daily, you apparently just didn't know it. I'd say it's more common to remove stuff then add.

In photoshop you use the clone stamp tool. You select a reference point, and then you "paint" the reference point on to the image. This was especially hard because the guy was in front of many different backgrounds. It is much easier to erase something that is next to a solid color background, but I had to paint over the tree, the library wall, the shadows, etc.

The fins are pretty uniform, so I'm sure they have plenty in reserve for replacement purposes.

Just learned today that more of the aggressive testing of the LED system will start soon. Will include movement, more colors, etc.

I know they plan to be completely finished in about a month.

I'm excited to see how the crown looks lit up. I've only seen it partially lit one time around 2AM but it was only a stationary green. You definitely notice when the crown is a different color several miles away.

Yes as mentioned previously, the crown has many more LED fixtures than the indentions, so there is the possibility for some really cool effects.

Really looking forward to seeing the complex movement, designs and colors that are possible once the system is fully programmed.

I see the indentions lit up nightly changing from Green, Blue , Red and white but have yet to see any of the crown lit up so am anxious to see that happen! there are still many lights out on the indentions, either out or not displaying correct color at correct time. will be great to see the finished product!

The more I view the building at night, the less I am enamored by the LEDs.

It's as if they were added on at the very end of the design process (probably at the request of the client). The lighting of the tower, IMO, should accent and highlight its architecture. The triangle on the top does just that--it celebrates that portion of the architectural concept. The LEDs seem to be intended to highlight the recessed portion of the facade, however, at night they just look like racing stripes. It's a "gee-whiz" gimmick that takes away from the elegance of the building.

On a broader scale, color-changing LED lighting is becoming a bit of a downtown cliche. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

I'll stop now.

Yeah, it wasn't really designed to show pictures or spell out words. As soon as I heard it was just going to be vertical fins going up the side of the building I knew its capabilities would be limited to fancy light shows.

If nothing else, it's major lighting on a downtown building, which is something downtown really needs. It will hopefully inspire owners of old buildings to add some lighting and hopefully give something for future builders to "one up" Devon with.

We would probably see nothing, as what is normal resolution in 2032 would be too large a file for our 2012 computers to handle. By then it would probably be 3D Hologram images that you can touch and fully interact with.

I wouldn't call him an idiot either. He's methodical, not speedy, and he's been slow to finance due to his smaller portfolio. Could someone have done better? Maybe, but at least he's maintained occupancy for the most part and he's a big proponent of on-street parking on Reno and other things that are good for Bricktown.

Anyway, back to Devon.
