Does anyone know if the restaurant will have windows above where you dine, to see the night sky? Would be awfully nice if they do.
Avoid it, perhaps, during hailstorms.

Any chance this might be the case? Assuming they would be willing to cover up the glass ceiling. It would be terribly inefficient, one is at an angle the sun totally misses it half the time the sun is up. The other two not only are facing the wrong way from the sun half the time, in the morning and evening one will block the other. SatelliteHigh 05-17-2012, 08:07 AM http://www.okctalk.com/images/pete/devon51612.jpg Just wondering, what's the significance of "Floor 44?" Pete 05-17-2012, 08:36 AM Just wondering, what's the significance of "Floor 44?" Just pointing out it is the highest floor with permanent lighting, showing how far they've come in finishing out the interior. They have been working their way up the tower and only have a handful of floors left to finish out. SharkSandwich 05-17-2012, 10:30 AM Larry Nichols also said that the exterior lighting on the side of the building would not be functional until sometime after the summer. Pete 05-17-2012, 12:34 PM Larry Nichols also said that the exterior lighting on the side of the building would not be functional until sometime after the summer. Where are you seeing/hearing this quotes from Nichols? See my post here for more details about the LED lighting (I should have said July would be the earliest this would be complete): http://www.okctalk.com/showwiki.php?title=Devon+Energy+Center+Devon+Tower&page=511&do=comments#post534186 BoulderSooner 05-18-2012, 09:29 AM Larry Nichols said this morning that construction of Vast will be completed in mid-August and it is slated to open October 1. Welcome to the site! For now, you have to enter the building through the north entrance, which is on Harvey near the downtown library. Or, you can enter from the east, more or less behind the IRS building and the Colcord Hotel. They should be close to having the west entrance open on Harvey, just north of the new auditorium. The main south entrance should be getting close too, but I think they are still a couple of weeks out. Pete 05-22-2012, 09:42 AM Just heard that the new south entrance to the Devon complex should be open sometime next week. Should be really exciting to get that part done, draw people into the park and connect the entire complex to the Myriad Gardens. Will really be a game-changer for that part of downtown. It will take a couple more months to finish the Colcord connection, the outdoor patio for Flint and the landscaped area between the two buildings. Flint hopes to have their patio open for july 4th weekend ChaseDweller 05-24-2012, 11:17 AM Had drinks at Flint on Tuesday. Bar is really cool. It extends west through the glass to the outside patio. Neat effect. Looks like the patio at Flint will be really nice. Bartender told us their liquor license covers the whole property, so they can do anything anywhere on the Devon grounds. We booked the banquet facility that is basically the second floor of the Devon/Colcord connector for our firm holiday dinner. Should be a cool view out over the MG with all the trees lit up for the season. I was told it was the very first event to be held there (don't know if that's true or not). The inside is a rather unremarkable ballroom like in any hotel so I didn't really take any pics, but here are some pics from the balcony. 1731 1732 1733 1734 1735 1736 1737 1738 1739 Pete 05-27-2012, 09:07 AM Thanks Kayne and shawn! Pete 05-31-2012, 08:53 PM The combination of the entire Devon complex, this new outdoor space, the auditorium, the Colcord, all the P180 improvements and the Myriad Gardens is absolutely stunning. It's very rare when this happens, but all this has actually exceeded expectations. Spartan 05-31-2012, 09:54 PM Wow. That aint no corporate plaza. That's a masterpiece. iMAX386 06-01-2012, 02:05 AM Seriously, that's sexy. It's like every little detail they could have knocked out of the park they did. This is a very Apple-esque operation, creating something that looks this good and has so many well-made details to appreciate. So rare to see a company appreciate those details instead of creating an ugly box that's only concerned about the bottom line. And love seeing all the green in those pics. Pete 06-01-2012, 07:48 AM More photos of this area on the Colcord Hotel thread: http://www.okctalk.com/showwiki.php?title=Colcord+Hotel&page=2&do=comments#post542542 You'll see their outdoor patio is going to have a similar design and features the same type of tables and chairs for their outdoor dining. dcsooner 06-01-2012, 08:11 AM Wow and incredible again! I am speechless. Thank you Mr. Nichols and Devon Energy. What a great enhancement to the DT OKC landscape Teo9969 06-01-2012, 11:00 AM I just hope nobody steals those tables and chairs. Pete 06-01-2012, 11:15 AM I wonder if they bring in the tables and chairs at night. At the very least, I'm sure they'll have good security coverage. |
