mcca7596 03-07-2012, 01:07 PM Anyone else think that the white construction lights look a lot nicer through the blue glass than the permanent yellow ones? Pete 03-07-2012, 01:08 PM I think they have been concentrating on getting all the common elements complete (lobby, rotunda, plaza, garden wing, etc.) and also completely finishing the first 30 floors so they can move in the first block of staff. That is supposed to happen starting a week from Monday! After that, I'm sure they will really pick up the speed with the remaining floors. The restaurant will open in the fall, and I bet that will be the very last thing they finish. SoonerBoy18 03-07-2012, 01:19 PM I think they have been concentrating on getting all the common elements complete (lobby, rotunda, plaza, garden wing, etc.) and also completely finishing the first 30 floors so they can move in the first block of staff. That is supposed to happen starting a week from Monday! After that, I'm sure they will really pick up the speed with the remaining floors. The restaurant will open in the fall, and I bet that will be the very last thing they finish. Oh okay, makes sense now, is this going to be a very expensive restaurant? Pete 03-07-2012, 01:21 PM They said it will be upscale but not incredibly expensive; pricing on par with the nicer restaurants in town. SharkSandwich 03-07-2012, 01:31 PM Anyone else think that the white construction lights look a lot nicer through the blue glass than the permanent yellow ones? yes. dougsevert 03-07-2012, 02:03 PM Why would someone want to put a big copywriter on an image that is so easily obtainable? OKCisOK4me 03-07-2012, 04:04 PM Why would someone want to put a big copywriter on an image that is so easily obtainable? This has already been hashed and removed from the discussion. Don't worry about it. SoonerBoy18 03-07-2012, 04:48 PM Anyone else think that the white construction lights look a lot nicer through the blue glass than the permanent yellow ones? absolutly not, the yellow lights are gorgeous. It really stands out in downtown Oklahoma City at night jn1780 03-07-2012, 05:08 PM Anyone else think that the white construction lights look a lot nicer through the blue glass than the permanent yellow ones? I think the focus will be on the LED lighting when the everything is complete. Not sure how many lights will be on after hours when the everyone moves in. Pete 03-07-2012, 05:21 PM I'm sure the lights will all be on motion sensors once the building is fully up and running, which means at night most the interior lights will be off. They are going for LEED certification and conserving energy is a big part of that. catch22 03-07-2012, 05:23 PM I'm sure the lights will all be on motion sensors once the building is fully up and running, which means at night most the interior lights will be off. They are going for LEED certification and conserving energy is a big part of that. Hopefully they don't put those in the bathrooms....I was in a building that had those installed in the bathroom. I had a level 5 emergency and went into the bathroom, 5 minutes later I am sitting in the dark in the bathroom with no way to turn the light on. Had to wait about 15 minutes for someone to come into the bathroom to activate the motion sensor. Fun times! dougsevert 03-07-2012, 05:23 PM What did I ever say that made you think I was worried? mcca7596 03-07-2012, 05:56 PM I think the focus will be on the LED lighting when the everything is complete. Why would someone want to put a big copywriter on an image that is so easily obtainable? It has more to do with you bringing something up that was settled over a week ago than it does anything else. OKCisOK4me 03-07-2012, 07:11 PM It has more to do with you bringing something up that was settled over a week ago than it does anything else. Precisely. Back to topic. SoonerBoy18 03-07-2012, 10:57 PM Oh I just hate when we have to go a number of days without any pictures of the construction site. :-( MDot 03-07-2012, 11:14 PM Oh I just hate when we have to go a number of days without any pictures of the construction site. :-( I don't have any pictures but I drove by on I-40 today about 5:10 and the reflection from the sun on Devon made it seem even more massive than normal. I had to try extra hard not to look at it because I was driving. SoonerBoy18 03-07-2012, 11:50 PM Lol when im on i-40 in the passengers seat, my eyes stay glued to the skyline so with the new i-40 further blocks away, it should'nt be so hard to focus lol mrktguy29 03-08-2012, 12:17 AM Hopefully they don't put those in the bathrooms....I was in a building that had those installed in the bathroom. One of my sales reps was by and I mentioned to her that her company needed to update any cards that incorporate skyline shots. I showed her your photos and she was blown away, like most of us on here. Can a company like that license some of your shots? SoonerBoy18 03-08-2012, 08:36 PM I feel stupid, i thought the tower only had two V's Dustin 03-08-2012, 09:22 PM I mean... What can else can you say about those photos other than "WOW!!!!!"? Absolutely stunning Cooper Ross! You make the tower look better than the renderings.. MDot 03-08-2012, 09:31 PM They are going for LEED certification and conserving energy is a big part of that. I've been reading a lot on LEED lately and began to wonder if Devon was trying to achieve LEED certification. I could have guessed they were but I had not seen an official report that they were and still haven't but I trust what you say since you post facts plus you have your connections. Urbanized 03-08-2012, 09:36 PM The presentation they gave OCURA when they announced plans to build included statements that they would be working to achieve LEED certification. I know there are various levels, and I'm not sure which level they were pursuing, but they definitely listed that as a priority during construction. Urbanized 03-08-2012, 09:43 PM Here's a link (http://www.hines.com/property/detail.aspx?id=2187) to information on the Devon Tower development on the Hines website. Hines is development manager for the project. The page mentions the LEED intentions. I know there are various levels, and I'm not sure which level they were pursuing, but they definitely listed that as a priority during construction. I didn't know about the Devon Tower until it started going vertical so that's why I had no clue about the LEED certification. I actually stumbled across a website that was comparing Oklahoma City to Jacksonville and listed all the pros and cons of both cities and the Devon Tower was the first pro listed for Oklahoma City and then I started searching "new building in Oklahoma City" and "Devon Tower in Oklahoma City" and surprisingly that's how I found OKCTalk. Amazing how much more knowledgeable I am about Oklahoma City now.
