I'm always glad to hear feedback from out of staters good, or bad. yukong 09-28-2011, 04:21 PM As the crow flies, Sonic to Devon Tower is 18 miles. Well, I guessed pretty good then. UnFrSaKn 09-28-2011, 04:22 PM Thanks to the lousy Vimeo Uploader, I gotta start all over again. MDot 09-28-2011, 04:26 PM Thanks to the lousy Vimeo Uploader, I gotta start all over again. Crap! I seen you had just now posted and was like YAY! But Vimeo has failed me and you both. UnFrSaKn 09-28-2011, 06:50 PM September 2011 http://vimeo.com/29753165 CuatrodeMayo 09-28-2011, 07:02 PM Best yet...Amazing. UnFrSaKn 09-28-2011, 07:16 PM Not real happy how Vimeo renders the video on their end. Some areas are overexposed. I'm uploading it to YouTube right now. I've never put any of these on there before. I want to see if the video quality is better. Won't take too long. If it's better, I'll link to it. UnFrSaKn 09-28-2011, 07:27 PM By the way, here's what a real time lapse video looks like compared to my junk. http://vimeo.com/23237102 dougsevert 09-28-2011, 08:07 PM OKC as seen from my favorite viewing site, the upper deck of the Bricktown garage. UnFrSaKn 09-28-2011, 09:31 PM YouTube version looks just the same... so I don't know. Whites and clouds are too white. iMAX386 09-29-2011, 12:19 AM By the way, here's what a real time lapse video looks like compared to my junk. http://vimeo.com/23237102 Inception music always helps. OKCisOK4me 09-29-2011, 12:26 AM Some of you had requested to see my original pic before I messed around with it. As I stated, it is blurry but that's because we were on the move. You'll see in this why the other buildings are brighter in my edit. I hope you don't mind, but I cropped one of your pics to show an interesting development: looks like they have started to disassemble the exterior freight elevator components on the first 20 floors. They must have some of the internal elevators working now and I bet we'll see glass go up in those empty spots soon: http://www.okctalk.com/images/pete/devon93011.jpg SkyWestOKC 09-30-2011, 10:19 AM Not sure if you noticed, Pete, but it looks like they already have glass going in the bottom! Pete 09-30-2011, 10:24 AM Yes, sharp eye SkyWest! Looking back at photos from just a few days ago, that glass on the third level was not there. UnFrSaKn 09-30-2011, 10:54 AM Pete, I noticed this and mentioned it a week ago when I did the ceremony video. (http://www.okctalk.com/showthread.php?t=19439&p=471011#post471011) http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j286/UnFrSaKn/Downtown%20OKC/Devon%20Tower/Septembe%202011/devontowerprogress9-21-11-28.jpg Just the facts 09-30-2011, 12:30 PM For those that are not good at the "what is different in this picture" game, the red safety cages are missing from the elevator on the left. UnFrSaKn 09-30-2011, 12:35 PM There's also a guard rail, so the elevator probably doesn't stop on those levels on both sides. holm1231 09-30-2011, 01:09 PM Drove by Today, and I know this isn't the thread, but they have put up to Chesepeake Energy signs on the OKC arena!!!! Thunder 09-30-2011, 01:13 PM Every time dougsevert post, its all blank. Why is he doing this? I don't see any pictures. Everyone else post pictures, I see them, but all blank on dougsevert. OKCisOK4me 10-01-2011, 01:02 AM Unforsaken aka Will I know the avatar is Obama'esque but he doesn't look the same. ;-) Thunder 10-01-2011, 01:08 AM OKCisOK4me, it is him. Don't even bother trying to get him to shave. He does it whenever he feel like it. The one in his avatar was of him shaved and an earlier picture. Should be any time now. I think someone said their going vertically with the panels now instead of horizontally across one floor. Pete 10-03-2011, 06:17 PM Regarding the glass, a recent report said they would no longer be adding it one floor at a time, rather they would be doing it in vertical strips. You can see on the construction cam that is already starting to happen on the southern side. Joe Kimball 10-04-2011, 02:37 PM A friend employed down there tells me that something else fell from the building and flattened a car on top of the parking garage. The news isn't substantiating it yet that I can see. EDIT: Well, a picture shows that it isn't FLATTENED, per se...but it's certainly damaged beyond drivable. The windshield and part of the roof is caved in slightly. Thundercitizen 10-04-2011, 03:53 PM Unfrskn must have dropped his video port folio. lasomeday 10-04-2011, 03:57 PM It looks like a pole fell off the side of the smaller building or the tower and landed on a car in the parking garage doing damage to it and the car next to it. UnFrSaKn 10-04-2011, 05:11 PM http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/302450_10150314563151636_141321506635_8265289_1471 352471_n.jpg Lauri101 10-04-2011, 05:16 PM It looks like a pole fell off the side of the smaller building or the tower and landed on a car in the parking garage doing damage to it and the car next to it. Several of our folks went out - the blue car in UnFrSaKn's pic was hit so hard the airbag deployed and car is probably totaled - frame bent. Other vehicle not so bad but substantial damage. OSHA folks were out there fast. The two owners were actually walking to their respective vehicles to go home. Good thing they didn't sneak out early. The pole was purportedly removed from the scene quickly. David 10-04-2011, 05:22 PM At least the white van is safe. UnFrSaKn 10-04-2011, 05:28 PM Alas, the white van has faded into obscurity. It shall not be forgotten. Dustin 10-04-2011, 05:41 PM Good thing they weren't in their vehicles. The person driving the truck might of gotten lucky, the person driving the car not so much... kevinpate 10-04-2011, 08:05 PM At least the white van is safe. FWIW, I laughed. Long live the white van! Mike63 10-05-2011, 08:13 AM That pole could be one of the poles that hold the nets. lasomeday 10-05-2011, 08:33 AM I hate the white van! It has been parked in my spot the last three days! I did find out the blue car was totalled. It was a Cavalier, so I am sure the owner will be happy to get a newer car! The other car Toyota Prius had substantial damage, but not totalled. Glass also hit the car next to them, but not sure how much. lasomeday 10-05-2011, 08:35 AM The pole now sits on the smaller building next to the tower, although one of the net poles is missing! |
