Dustin 07-27-2011, 06:01 PM I see it too! Hooray for me! jn1780 07-27-2011, 06:21 PM I also notice that the last floor slab is thicker and those two columns directly adjacent to the V "notch" are not sitting directly on top of the columns beneath them and they also appear to be smaller. That would explain why that floor took a little bit longer. Dustin 07-27-2011, 09:34 PM AAAAAmazing. Who ever gets to wash this thing is going to be rich. http://www.flickr.com/photos/sheilaphillips/5939720941/ It almost looks cloaked! :sofa: UnFrSaKn 07-28-2011, 08:41 AM July 29 2010 http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j286/UnFrSaKn/Downtown%20OKC/CRW_3590.jpg http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j286/UnFrSaKn/Downtown%20OKC/CRW_3593.jpg http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j286/UnFrSaKn/Downtown%20OKC/CRW_3588.jpg http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j286/UnFrSaKn/Downtown%20OKC/CRW_3571.jpg http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j286/UnFrSaKn/Downtown%20OKC/CRW_3572.jpg UnFrSaKn 07-28-2011, 08:42 AM Finishing up the July time lapse.... OKCisOK4me 07-28-2011, 11:06 AM Looks so small! Also, the Ford Service Parts building is still there. Troypin 07-28-2011, 11:41 AM aw, the good old days! architect5311 07-28-2011, 12:41 PM Floor Plan calls these areas out as lanterns..... http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk92/gandjdunlap/DEVONFP01TOP.jpg OKCisOK4me 07-28-2011, 02:10 PM 5311, English please? I saw Green Lantern but I don't know what that has to do with the Devon Tower ;-) Just the facts 07-28-2011, 02:58 PM Sources of illumination? UnFrSaKn 07-28-2011, 03:03 PM New banner. http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j286/UnFrSaKn/okctalkbanner.jpg Pete 07-28-2011, 03:55 PM Updated! Thanks William! UnFrSaKn 07-28-2011, 03:57 PM That's three images stitched together and every power line and pole removed. OKCisOK4me 07-28-2011, 04:06 PM New banner. http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j286/UnFrSaKn/okctalkbanner.jpg That's waaaaay better than the other one! It looks good on a post card but not as an internet forum header." Dustin 07-28-2011, 06:38 PM Maybe that was the point of the second one. UnFrSaKn 07-28-2011, 07:02 PM My coworker says, "remove the print. It looks good on a post card but not as an internet forum header." *facepalm* Maybe that was the point of the second one. We have a winner. Thunder 07-28-2011, 08:03 PM The banner guy is our hero. :-O UnFrSaKn 07-28-2011, 08:49 PM Keep an eye out for a surprise tomorrow morning...perhaps late tonight... metro 07-28-2011, 10:50 PM Will, if you try to sneak into my house late tonight, I'm taking out a VPO on you. LOL. Thunder 07-28-2011, 10:58 PM Will, if you try to sneak into my house late tonight, I'm taking out a VPO on you. LOL. I'm positive he is straight. UnFrSaKn 07-29-2011, 04:01 AM July 2011 http://vimeo.com/27041515 dmoor82 07-29-2011, 04:26 AM ^^Flawless! Will, how many actual hours of footage does it take to make a video like this? UnFrSaKn 07-29-2011, 04:30 AM A typical full day, before it gets hot, is around 6:30am to noon. For six hours of walking and sitting still, I might get 5-6 minutes of video. I only went out in the morning, as you can probably tell. This month, I usually went out on Wednesday and got that week's progress. dmoor82 07-29-2011, 04:37 AM Well OKCTalk forumers and I myself thank you for your contributions to this site with helping archive this tower!Your videos and pics will be seen and shared for many years to come!I'm getting positive feedback on other sites about your videos. soonerwilliam 07-29-2011, 08:33 AM A+ William, as usual. Great job! Very much appreciated. Thunder 07-29-2011, 08:39 AM UnFrSaKn, my favorite part was the Canadian Geese. :-) Looking at the Chase Tower, we can see that replaced windows are horrible...no match...so do anyone think there will be complete exterior renovation within our lifetime? Is there any way of knowing if Devon ordered hundreds of windows to be in storage and ready to replace? SoonerBoy18 07-29-2011, 10:02 AM When the tower is completed, I sure hope First National and Ramsey tower are completly filled with tenats, It looks like those 2 buildings have 0 people working in them Pete 07-29-2011, 10:10 AM Amazing, as usual! You spoil us William. Here is a screen capture of my favorite downtown perspective: http://www.okctalk.com/images/pete/devon72911.jpg UnFrSaKn 07-29-2011, 10:15 AM Thats the shot I was referring to that ended up being one of the best of the month. dmoor82 07-29-2011, 10:54 AM Amazing, as usual! You spoil us William. Here is a screen capture of my favorite downtown perspective: http://www.okctalk.com/images/pete/devon72911.jpg ^^That would be an awesome banner, not that the current one isnt! Pete 07-29-2011, 11:10 AM I love that angle but think it would be even better from a little further NW and higher up; like from the Union Bank building or the top of the Marriott. That general area is also on higher ground to start with. That way all the taller buildings would stand out more and you'd have a big carpet of trees in the foreground. soonerwilliam 07-29-2011, 11:14 AM I love that view! It's the BEST!! dmoor82 07-29-2011, 11:17 AM ^^Driving on NW Expressway East from I-44 as soon as you clear the hospital there is an Awesome view of dt!I would love to see a pic of dt from the Union bank tower or Founders 360 or the Marriot! dankrutka 07-29-2011, 11:38 AM Yeah. That is one of the best views. I like the little chapel that sneaks in the bottom right corner. Someone needs to put this on the OKC related Wikipedia pages for OKCs skyline... OKCisOK4me 07-29-2011, 12:35 PM ^^Driving on NW Expressway East from I-44 as soon as you clear the hospital there is an Awesome view of dt!I would love to see a pic of dt from the Union bank tower or Founders 360 or the Marriot! You rather mean Hefner Parkway or Hwy 74. I-44 curves more easterly at NW 39th Street, as they merge into each other. The view you're referring to is traveling on NW Expressway and hitting the stoplight at Independence Avenue going eastbound. Yeah. That is one of the best views. I like the little chapel that sneaks in the bottom right corner. Someone needs to put this on the OKC related Wikipedia pages for OKCs skyline... I know of someone that lives in Founders facing downtown. Unfortunately it's a person through a person. I'll work magic if you can produce a dSLR with a 300mm telephoto lens accompanying it! soonerwilliam 07-29-2011, 01:44 PM I agree. Someone please put that DT picture on the OKC Wikipedia pages (ALL OF THEM)! soonerwilliam 07-29-2011, 01:51 PM Hopefully someone can put it on the Wikipedia "List of largest cities by population in the U.S." page. dankrutka 07-29-2011, 02:11 PM Hopefully someone can put it on the Wikipedia "List of largest cities by population in the U.S." page. Agreed. The current pic is off the highway, and while a good pic, is not a good pic for that forum. dankrutka 07-29-2011, 02:13 PM Hopefully someone can put it on the Wikipedia "List of largest cities by population in the U.S." page. Agreed. The current pic is off the highway, and while a good pic, is not a good pic for that forum. Just doesn't look good. G.Walker 07-29-2011, 02:55 PM ^^That would be an awesome banner, not that the current one isnt! This should be the new Wikipedia pic for OKC! Whoever is responsible for updating the page, use this one, its great. G.Walker 07-29-2011, 02:56 PM Amazing, as usual! You spoil us William. UnFrSaKn 07-29-2011, 04:00 PM Do we really need the long banner? http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j286/UnFrSaKn/okctalkbannerversion4.jpg Thunder 07-29-2011, 04:07 PM That's the best one to be used!!! dmoor82 07-29-2011, 04:08 PM I like it better but how would it look up top?The current one is just fine,it's really just which one fits up top better and really ultimately up to you! Thunder 07-29-2011, 04:09 PM I like it better but how would it look up top?The current one is just fine,it's really just which one fits up top better and really ultimately up to you! It depends. We have many uses standard screens and the few uses widescreen. lol Milan 07-29-2011, 04:25 PM How tall is the devon tower currently in meters? Milan 07-29-2011, 05:09 PM does anybody know how tall the devon tower is currently? ljbab728 07-30-2011, 12:14 AM UnFrSaKn, my favorite part was the Canadian Geese. :-) Looking at the Chase Tower, we can see that replaced windows are horrible...no match...so do anyone think there will be complete exterior renovation within our lifetime? Is there any way of knowing if Devon ordered hundreds of windows to be in storage and ready to replace? Thunder, I don't see what you're talking about concerning the Chase Tower. It looks the same as always to me and I don't see any replaced windows. Maybe you're looking at the floors or individual windows that are using interior shading at times which makes them look different. Thundercitizen 07-30-2011, 01:22 AM Not sure who these guys are, but apparently some architecture students in France (?) have taken on the Devon Tower as a project. http://vimeo.com/23872268 http://vimeo.com/23884515 Thundercitizen 07-30-2011, 01:23 AM Please delete. OKCisOK4me 07-30-2011, 09:45 AM ^^Yeah your right,I had a brain fart! Were all aloud one a day,but you obviously knew what I was trying to say. Hey, it's all good. I just didn't want people to do Tim Taylor's high pitched "uuuuggh?" from Home Improvement ;-) dmoor82 07-30-2011, 01:32 PM OKC-UP by:velotta.bill from Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/33173530@N03/http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5064/5744907257_ace951fae8_b.jpg edcrunk 07-30-2011, 04:44 PM Because the indentions represent a much smaller area but still allow for lots of effects that run the entire height of the building. Also, I'm told there will be a ton of lighting in the crown, which will be the most visible part. The cost is all about lineal feet of LED. i thought all the fins had the LEDs in them... do they serve another purpose? Milan 07-30-2011, 04:50 PM how tall is the devon tower currently? does anyone know? UnFrSaKn 07-31-2011, 08:34 AM Anyone know if the area above the "V" on the webcam view will be an open area for viewing or something like that? Perhaps to do with the restaurant? SoonerBoy18 07-31-2011, 05:10 PM Does anyone know what that construction is by the Sandrige building? Or if there is any? I heard a while back that they were building something but never heard anything else about that subject ..... |
