So in this explanation the columns ARE being built right on top of each other even if the axis isn't true vertical. Based on this, if the building was tall enough the columns would come to a single point or arch.

This may have been answered earlier, will there be an observation floor/restaurants on the top of this buliding? Seems like it would be a cool concept in okc since I dont know of any other high-rise restaurants here.

Yes, on the 49th floor. It's aiming to be one of the top restaurants in this region.

in addition to the restaurant at the top, founders tower on expressway used to have one until the landlord kicked them out. There is currently the petroleum club at the top of Chase tower as well.

Why do you think it's undersized. It fits in exactly as the mock up shows it. Have you ever gone into the 20 NB Devon Building and looked at the model. If not, you should.

I don't go down there but once a week maybe. I'm still trying to finish up part 2 of my last video. There isn't much to see, in regards to India Temple, until they tear it down further where I can see more of the inside. Also, cloud cover dictates whether I do any video at all. I'll be in Denver most of next week.

I was downtown for lunch today. Walked over to the Ford dealership site. Took pics. Seems the official uniform of the day downtown is hardhat and chartreuse or orange fluorescent mesh vest - construction workers everywhere, swarming like ants! Workers all over the Myriad Gardens, on the streets, and at the OKC Arena. Very exciting to see so much activity, I wanted an orange vest for a souvenir. Looking up at Devon soaring over the skyline, I had a moment of, "what city am I in?" Pretty cool down there.

I first saw this article early this morning around 2am. It is still visible on Steve's blog page. And... it's a cool story. Good details and foreshadowing. Being that I view this particular thread everyday, and I crane my neck and view the tower everything single time I pass or approach it on the freeway... I can hardly say that I'm burned out on it. Great story Steve. Wish I could've taken the tour!

I made this map this past weekend.
It is a map of the visibility areas for the tower.
The red areas on the map are the ares where you would be able to seethe tower at that location. This is all assuming you are 6 feet tall and if there are no trees or buildings in the way, topography is included. I chose the building height to be 825 feet for this map because I figured you would actually want to be able to see the building and not just the very top. Oh and the radius of the circle is 36 miles, not that you can actually see that far, but I thought I would extend it out that far.

Umm, no he's not. And actually, I just think G.Walker is just a bit disappointed, Slackmeyer did say there would be something exciting in this Sunday's paper. If this is what that story was, then his word held a lot more excitement than what I read. It's just an update that we've read before and a restaurant isn't anything radical; there has been restaurants opening up all over the downtown area.

Anyways. Glad to see the tower at 41 stories. It's almost topped out, and I'm impatiently waiting for the crown to be constructed.

Hola OKC! I was in your fine town, two years ago, and EVERYONE was very friendly, and helpful. Just made an OKC Talk account to say congrats on the Devon Tower. I was hoping to see it going up, when I was there, but I was obviously there too soon. I live in Denver and wish they would build one of those here! Our "big three," the three over 700 feet, are getting a little long in the tooth. Coming into the city from the north, Denver looks exactly the same as it did in 1985.

Anyway, I can't get out of here without mentioning the Thunder!!! Don't get too excited OKC, the Nugs are looking pretty tough! LOL...We're screwed, I think. Really hoping we would end up playing Dallas. K-Perkins is a really big dude, and a terrible match-up. Same thing with Durant. We'll see. Good luck, Oklahoma City...You have plenty to be excited about and proud of. I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that. It really couldn't happen to nicer and more deserving people.

The bombing memorial was as fantastic as something like that can be. Far more moving than the "new" WW2 memorial in Washington D.C. At least, in my opinion.

I can understand why someone who was expecting some new exciting story might be a little disappointed but it's not going to be Christmas every day. LOL
And I don't think you can equate the opening of an IHOP in Bricktown to a potentially iconic restaurant 50 floors above OKC. If it's decent, it will be a true destination restaurant.
