Has anyone been to Oktoberfest in Choctaw? I heard the Choctaw city mayor interviewed over the weekend in a promo for the festival. Sounds like it will be really good. Evidently the Old German restaurant does the cooking and they will have 23 authentic german beers -a total of 35 premium beers. Dates September 9-12. They were looking for volunteers for Saturday and Sunday if anyone is interested. It pays free beer, free food and a t shirt. OLD GERMANY RESTAURANT (http://www.oldgermany.com/)

Good times were had the time I went. The food and booze are the main draws, obviously.

I went Friday after the Angelina statue unveiling. Tons of people, horrible parking this year, muddy, the food was cold, the beer was warm and flat. Not a good year. I stayed 30 minutes and left.

I went Friday as well. I didn't think parking was bad and the beer was cold as I remember. The only complaint was that the ham hock wasn't very good, definitely not worth $22. I know it's a pig and all but it had too much fat on it. The smoked brat was good though.
