Anyone know of any decent returns on a 1 year investment? (investments like CDs, bonds, annunities, etc)
1 year CD offers at most 2.00% - 2.20% APY from what I have found out.
Anyone have other suggestions which provides a fixed return?

Slim pickins right now, even for CDs. Until interest rates go back up it'll be horrible. Almost worth it to have money in cash in savings account getting 1.5% because of the liquidity

until the economy is revived, deem this thread to be dead.

https://www.checkingfinder.com/, there are several local banks offering high-yield (4-5%) on online checking accounts with no minimums.

Online banks may have the best rates but look for the online CD shopping sites. One thing to definitely avoid as a short term investment are annuities. They are useful for long term financial planning but are not a short term investment product. ALso, for such a short term investment NEVER, NEVER, NEVER invest in anything that results in a fee being charged to you. Longer-term financial planning will likely involve a management fee but for such a short term item, you do not need to pay fees.
