Did anyone read that CRAP that was in the Jokelahoman today about OCPS football? I didn't realize until after I read it, that it was a Jeni Carlson article, but that explained it for me. That's the most idiotic and backwards thinking I've seen in a long time, and the staff comments go right along with it!!!

OK first off, since when does a good football team create a good school? Just because football does well, doesn't mean the rest of the school does....and vice versa. There are plenty places that have horrible football but are great schools. Look at Piedmont or Yukon! Aren't schools places of learning FIRST?!

And the other comments by the staff...do your homework boys. First of Tulsa PS has had a 6A school for decades. Until a few weeks ago, Memorial was 6A...and guess what, they have a basketball team that competes right at the top of 6A.

The comments about Putnam City, Midwest City, etc.....?! WTF? Midwest City wasn't in the top round the last 2 seasons or anything huh? And PC wasn't one of the top 5 6Aers for the last decade huh? And since when does money equate to good football? Edmond Memorial has been a perennial crapfest, Yukon is pathetic most years, Norman is sliding like crazy, Mustang is struggling, PC North has fallen from recent grace, etc.

It just amazes me when such complete and total idiotic "journalism" gets sent out all over the state.

I have a stupid but honest question: If you consider the paper a joke, then why do you read it?

Seriously, if I don't like something I discontinue it.

I forgot to talk about how instead of making the players better, they recommend that OCPS only play one another and then compete for a city trophy. So instead of facing the fact that they lag behind, we'll just put crap against crap and then give them a big trophy of crap.

The Oklahoman is one of numerous newspapers on the flailing, dying end of a flailing, dying industry. Jenni Carlson has about as much business as a professional sportswriter as I do professionally arranging flowers. As this post proves, they're all about writing whatever gets noticed.

Journalism in any real form died long ago. It's all TMZ sensationalism. Everytime I see a reporter on TV that has "the voice", I change it...like that blond/redhead guy Nick or whatever...think he's on Fox. Excattly the type of reporter I loathe.

Too bad we can't report the news instead of creating a sensationalistic twist to it just to get ratings.
