Once a year the Loony Bin hosts a comedy contest and it's next week with the Semi's on Wednesday (19th) and Finals on Sunday(23rd).

This year will be very competitive with Leah Kayajanian, Brad Porter, Derek Smith, Marcel, Spencer Hicks, Shane Parks, James Ngheim, myself and others in the semi's.

It's always a good time and if you're in the city, come out. If you need discount tickets, PM me.

Any stand-up comedy fans on this board? I made it to the finals (final eight out of 22) and I'd like to see some OKC TALK folks out there. If you do come and tell me you're from OKC TALK I'll give you one of my cartoon humor books.

The finals are at the Loony Bin Sunday night at 9:00. Door charge is $6.00.

Since they often offer up to stage performers to break a leg, guess I'll offer you up a crack a smile.

Thanks and come out if you can. I've got a few books to give out.

By the way, we're publishing two new books both to come out in September.
One is "Golfreaks" all golf cartoons by famous cartoonist Jerry King. The other is my "Sports Fans are Crazy".

I know Derek Smith fairly well. Though I can't make it out tonight, I hope he wins. If he doesn't, then I hope you do Stan. Knock 'em dead!

Thanks. I view Derek as the one to beat.

I notice you've got my name hidden in poster name. What's that about?

Well guys, I got third place. Had a good time, the room was packed each night and the laughs were explosive.

I was 35 years older than any other comic in the finals. Leah Kayajanian won and she's won almost every contest she's entered. If she wants to pursue a full time career, she'll could do well, although her material tends not to be television friendly.

> although her material tends not to be television friendly.

just one of several reasons behind cable and HBO specials I suppose

Exactly, and of course.
Her material is much more television friendly than Louis CK, for example.
