omg... I just returned from this little Italian restaurant that was so incredibly good, I Had to write. If you've read any of my thousands of posts, this is a rarity.

I decided to try it as it was a new coupon on Restaurant.com -act now... 80% off = $25 off of a $35 purchase* Code Napkin

Caffe Pranzo

Caffe Pranzo Restaurant: Home (http://www.caffepranzo.com/)

It was extremely good food.. so fresh and seasoned perfectly. I'm not a foodie by any means but the high quality of ingredients was so apparent.

The bread basket was never empty .. (the tomato sauce was to die for ) and the service was great. *( the waiter was very cool about the coupon.. I always feel awkward using them but I told him up front that it was our first time there and he was extremely gracious and helpful.)

We had Fried Calamari - wonderful!

We had four entrees.. all of us were extremely impressed and all shared bites.. all consistenly great tasting! My son had a Ceaser salad - fresh and crisp with his chicken parmesean which was delicious as well.

I highly recommend the Roast Beef/Salami - Italian Melt sandwich w Potato salad... the peppers in my sandwich were so unbelieveable fresh, sweet and just wonderful.. I know, I know.. it was just a pepper.. but I guess I haven't had a great one in a long time.. lol.

Finally Tiramisu with fresh whipped cream, which was to die for.

Of course, we tipped 20% on the whole amount which was only $54 dollars total (lunch menu) and we ended up out the door for under $40 bucks for a family of Four w Endless fresh hot bread, Hor's douvres and Entrees & Dessert! We all brought half of our portions home!

I like the fact that the 18% isn't included as he was a wonderful waiter even knowing we had our 'coupon'.

This is a great little hidden gem featuring some of the best Italian food I've had in a long time.

The 80 % coupon will expire this week... I think I might stock up for the year and get a few more. Not sure if they will offer it again.

Thanks, Karried. I love Italian food and am happy to get a get recommendation. Looks like we might be able to move back home around Christmas and that will got on my list of things to do when we get back (besides sit around and beam).

:yeahthat: It's been a while since I've been there. I'll have to make an effort to go back. I'm always happy to support a place with good service.

I had forgotton about that place, it was in my Italian rotation when I lived in OKC...of course it was a little more often when I lived in The Village. Very good place.

Karried, have you tried Bellini's before? You would have loved Tommy's back in the day too.

Thanks for posting this. Our family misses our little italian restaurant back in Dallas where we still talk with the owners and they watched our daughter grow up. Like the lunch and dinner menu listings, but thumbs down on the beverages. (I detest Pepsi-eck!). Will just have to suffer and try the iced teas (sound really good).

I agree. This place is really good. Not a Bellini's fan at all, overpriced and greasy. Same way with most of the Italian chain restaurants around town. No flavor, too much grease. Tommy's was good. The original Primo's was good in Yukon until they started opening up more places. The food went downhill quick. I still like Victoria's in Norman the best.

How did you like Tommy's but not Bellini's? Isn't Tommy Byrd behind both of them? I love them both in their own way.

I think it is the same concept or owner that started both. It just depends on the chef really, not the owner. I also like Alfredo's but not Teds.

Plus..you know me well enough by now to know I'm incredibly picky about food. I would almost say snobbish.

Snobbish is pretty spot-on
