Lurker34 06-19-2009, 11:06 AM I enjoyed the show last year. I might go this year, however it seems the Zoo keeps bringing back the same bands as last year. REO, Styx, Journey, Chicago. etc. I really would like to see something new, and by that I don't mean the latest flash in the pan. Way too many zoo sized shows are heading to casinos and the BOK center. bluedogok 06-19-2009, 06:27 PM Is Night Ranger opening for them? They are down here in Austin, I think the night before. Karried 06-19-2009, 09:55 PM yep... last year, it was Heart and Cheaptrick.. but Journey rocked the house .. guess you have to love the big hair band era to appreciate them. But, I'm happy to say thanks to Rockband and me wailing out Journey songs relentlessly, my kids love them too! lol... I can't wait for this concert. I'm looking forward to seeing them more than U2, believe it or not. bluedogok 06-20-2009, 07:48 AM My wife is a bigger fan than I am, she saw them when they played The Backyard here in Austin in 2002 with Steve Augeri and thought he was pretty good, the clips that she has seen with the new singer leaves her less than impressed. Is he better live than on video? I saw them once, the middle show in the three nights at Lloyd Noble Center (1983) with Bryan Adams as the opening act. http://bluedogok.com/journey-072083.jpg Karried 06-20-2009, 10:15 AM Yeah, I know it's hard for people to forget Steve Perry... this guy is actually amazing..so good in concert. Arnel Pineda Foundation (http://arnelpinedafoundation.org/) Pretty cool how he came to be the lead singer: Arnel Pineda Official Site | Main (http://arnelpinedarocks.com/) This was a few years ago on Ellen..... OdJqG4DB3yk I can't wait for the concert... I love it. westsidesooner 06-20-2009, 11:17 AM We went to the concert last summer and had a blast. As far as Arnel, he is one of the best replacements for a lead singer I've ever heard. Several times I could have sworn that Steve was up there singing to the crowd. Amazing voice. evh5150 07-02-2009, 04:17 PM Neil Schon was born in Midwest City. Wonder when the last time was he paid a visit there. Karried 07-05-2009, 12:02 AM wow.. I never knew that.. OK has a lot of talented musicians.. pretty cool fire121 07-06-2009, 06:25 AM My wife is a bigger fan than I am, she saw them when they played The Backyard here in Austin in 2002 with Steve Augeri and thought he was pretty good, the clips that she has seen with the new singer leaves her less than impressed. I saw them once, the middle show in the three nights at Lloyd Noble Center (1983) with Bryan Adams as the opening act. http://bluedogok.com/journey-072083.jpg I was there. Amazing concert. It seems like they sold out the first two shows fairly quickly, then added the third later. I think I was at the second? The longer I have my old concert tickets the more satisfaction I get from them. There is one I cannot find and would love to have. I saw a group that apparently had a hot single at the time and not really sure what the year even was. The group was Berlin and the concert was in the basement of Plaza Court building at Classen Dr and Walker? Had to be 82 or 83? Lurker34 07-06-2009, 07:55 AM Wasn't that the old Bowery? Terry Nunn was cute back then, although a bit dingy. Met her at the Sound Warehouse on May. bluedogok 07-06-2009, 06:59 PM The Bowery, I saw a few shows there. Streets (Steve Walsh after Kansas) and Dokken were a couple that I saw there. I still have many of my old tickets but I wish I knew what happened to some of my others. There is a Let's Have a Bowery Reunion group on Facebook. Lurker - I worked at that Sound Warehouse back in that era. It was great for getting tickets to shows. That Journey ticket was for the second night of the three shows. Drake 07-06-2009, 07:08 PM Neil Schon was born in Midwest City. Wonder when the last time was he paid a visit there. He was born at Tinker. I dont think he spent much time at all in this area. Karried 07-06-2009, 07:23 PM If I had only kept all my concert tickets... I have some, but ugh... I can't believe I didn't keep all of them now. fire121 07-06-2009, 07:58 PM The Bowery!! Wow, I always figured some joker on here would remember!! Too cool. |
