metro 05-06-2009, 11:30 AM Thanks for posting this, I've been meaning to for a few days now. Today is the last day you can PRINT the coupon, however as you stated, you can use it up until 5/19, excluding Mothers Day. A great way to save a few bucks and apply the savings to one of your bills!
Karried 05-06-2009, 11:42 AM I printed mine earlier.. you do have to install a coupon printer and at first it didn't print but once I turned off my Pop Up Blocker it worked...

Now that could be a commercial!!! :LolLolLol
metro 05-06-2009, 01:40 PM Good thing I write commercials for a living.......
mecarr 05-06-2009, 01:42 PM I went by there today with my coupon in hand. There were 15 cars in the drive-thru, so I went inside to order, only to be told that they "ran out of chicken", and that it'd be at least a 30 minute way. Judging by the amount of people in the restaurant, most people were more than happy to wait.
MsDarkstar 05-06-2009, 02:52 PM I printed my coupon & got my chicken. Wow....that was the greasiest chicken I have ever had. It had good flavor but I don't think I'll be going back for more of it. I'll stick to the extra crispy, it's not nearly as greasy.
MadMonk 05-06-2009, 03:06 PM I also went by there today for lunch and had to wait a while on the chicken. Many people were accepting the fried chicken as a substitute, but I wasn't in any hurry and waited on the grilled since I had never tried it before. It was "okay", a little salty but cooked well and was juicy. Not my favorite, but certainly good enough for a free lunch. I'll have to try a grilled piece of white meat instead of the leg/thigh next time I visit.
LIL_WAYNE_4_PREZIDENT08 05-06-2009, 03:08 PM Just printed it off
All it says is " THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW" KENTUCKY GRILLED CHICKEDN 2 PIECE MEAL COUPON!
on a white sheet of paper.
Is that it?
Karried 05-06-2009, 03:13 PM It should have a Bar Code on the coupon ...
Karried 05-06-2009, 03:14 PM KFC - Unthink what you thought about KFC (http://www.unthinkfc.com/)
The site is busy right now. Might try later.
Insider 05-07-2009, 08:26 AM Be warned... ALL KFCs are extremely busy because of these coupons. I went at lunch yesterday (to the one on McArthur and I-40) and had to wait over 40 minutes just for food. I drove by the two in Norman last night and they had both run out of chicken (they put big signs outside). If you go, be prepared to wait and do not wait too long or they may be out!
metro 05-07-2009, 09:17 AM I printed my coupon & got my chicken. Wow....that was the greasiest chicken I have ever had. It had good flavor but I don't think I'll be going back for more of it. I'll stick to the extra crispy, it's not nearly as greasy.
Greasy? They grill it instead of fry it, are you sure it wasn't moisture from the meat? I've had the grilled and it sure wasn't greasy to me.
FFLady 05-07-2009, 09:23 AM I noticed on the coupon it said "manager's choice".....did that mean a thigh & a leg? I don't like dark meat chicken (or turkey), so that's what kept me from utilizing the coupon....but no complaints, I'm sure there were many that enjoyed a "free" lunch!!
MsDarkstar 05-07-2009, 09:54 AM Greasy? They grill it instead of fry it, are you sure it wasn't moisture from the meat? I've had the grilled and it sure wasn't greasy to me.
Yes, I'm sure. I could recognize what was "juicy" about it, as well as the grease. There's definitely a difference between juice & grease...this was a combo of both, but heavy on the grease part - so much so that it soaked thru the bottom of the box, causing the box to stick to my desk lol! My coworker went to the same location & had the same issue (NW Expressway & Rockwell).
MadMonk 05-07-2009, 10:10 AM It's not grease from cooking, it's the rendered chicken fat. They are only giving out dark meat so it's naturally going to be more fatty than the breast meat.
kevinpate 05-07-2009, 10:17 AM chikin -the other dark meat
Missed out on the coupon notice, but I've had the grilled before. Better than extra crispy, but only about 1/3 as good as Harlan's original claim to fame. I don't see them becoming KGC anytime soon.

mecarr 05-07-2009, 03:44 PM I was in the drive-thru today, had to wait around 30 minutes which as of now seems ridiculous, but i was really hungry at the time! The chicken was okay, very greasy though and there wasn't much meat to it. But at least it was free
BBatesokc 05-08-2009, 10:19 PM Tried to use one at the KFC at SE 59th and S. Shields Blvd., but they refused. Said they were not accepting them.
Karried 05-08-2009, 10:48 PM That sucks.. you should have gotten a raincheck and a free soda.. that's what the President of KFC promised.
Karried 05-08-2009, 10:50 PM KFC offers rain check for Oprah coupon
The owners of Kentucky Fried Chicken learned this lesson the hard way: Never underestimate the power of Oprah.
After Oprah Winfrey promoted a coupon for a free KFC grilled chicken meal on her show last week, hoards of people rushed to cash in on the free meal.
In 24 hours, 10.5 million coupons were downloaded from the Web site unthinkkfc.com. Customers had to print the coupon by 10 p.m. Wednesday, but it does not expire until May 19.
The demand for free meals overwhelmed some KFC locations as early as Tuesday afternoon. Locally, customers reported problems with early chicken sell-outs. And by Thursday, KFC restaurants posted signs saying they would no longer accept the free meal coupon.
“We used the coupon Tuesday evening and had to wait 20 minutes for the Fort Eustis location to cook more chicken only for them to tell us they ran out,” said Ebony Calhoun of Newport News. “Another location in Hampton ran out of side (dishes), but that was only for coupon customers. If you were buying, the sides were plentiful.”
Now, all KFC locations have been instructed to pass out rain check forms to every coupon-carrying customer. The form promises a free meal at a later (undisclosed) date and a free soft drink, which is an addition to the original coupon.
Customers must fill in their name and address and attach the original coupon to the form. They can leave it at a KFC location or mail it in themselves by May 19.
On Friday, Winfrey addressed what she called “the biggest Harpo hookup ever” in an interview with KFC President Roger Eaton.
“I mean, we had very big projection numbers on this, but not in our wildest imagination could we believe the response we’ve gotten,” Eaton said.
To ease the strain, the rain date coupon will stagger the dates that people can redeem their free meal.
“They should have limited the number of coupons,” said Bill Moughamian of Hampton. He redeemed two KFC coupons on Tuesday.
“People printed off hundreds of them. I saw them handing out coupons in the restaurant,” he said.
mecarr 05-08-2009, 11:26 PM I read where some lines were 90 minutes long and the drive-thru line snaked around the block. And this is for grilled chicken.
Karried 05-08-2009, 11:42 PM I know it's ridiculous. Sam's Club has a whole rotisserie chicken for under $5 bucks. So silly.
Thunder 05-09-2009, 01:26 AM The only other time that I can think of where millions of people did something similar was when McDonalds was having those mini Beanie Babies. Every McDonalds, I remember cars backed up into the streets.
