My Grandmother had a 78 record that I now have and it has a chuck missing off the edge. It's titled (Got to get to) Oklahoma City. It is on the RCA Victor label 20-2414_a (Don Reed-Dan Franklin) Luke Wills' Rhythm Busters with vocal refrain. If I remember correctly it went something like this. "I gotta gal in Oklahoma City she ain't to bright, but she's awfully pretty. I hope it ain't to late already hope my gal ain't goin steady gotta get to OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOklahoma City
I picked up another 78 at a local thrift store. It's called Oklahoma City it's on the Columbia label 37204 (CCO 4634) Vocal by Paul Howard with string band acc. Fred Rose, Paul Howard and his Cotton Pickers. I don't have a turntable to listen to the 2nd record and have no idea what is sounds like.

Besides R & H musical OKLAHOMA and the 80's song by Frizzel and West You're the reason God make Oklahoma YouTube - D. Frizzell & S. West - You're The Reason God Made Oklahoma (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSVBADpK9fs) can anyone think of any other Oklahoma or Oklahoma city music?

I grew up in Enid, and moved to OKC in 1995 to go to Oklahoma Christian University. I've been in the metro ever since. Most of these threads go back before my time here, so I haven't chimed in much, but this one caught my attention.

Leon's house with the famous basement studio. Of course, we were one the
poor side of S. Peoria.

All: The Oklahoma History Center is going to open an exhibit on Oklahoma ROCK music on May 1. Most of what has been mentioned above will be touched on in this great exhibit. Buy the book, too!

The Norma Jean I knew was Bachmeyer (spelling). We gigged a lot in the
80's. She was an old standards singer, you know, Misty, Miss Otis Regrets,
Body and Soul, Prunes and Bowels, etc...

I haven't seen her in 20 years. She was one of those people who looked
years younger than they are. A beautiful woman and a very nice voice.

She owned Hoagy's Road House in the basement of the Tiffany House in
the Late 70's and early 80's, that is until some jerk convinced her to move
out to the old "Governor's Club" on NE 63rd. Hoagy's was a great place.
