Not ..sure!! papaOU 10-14-2009, 10:52 PM Not ..sure!! papa john creech played with them on that tour. maybe we both had some "foggy" moments during those concert years. I had seen Black Sabbath as the opener for so many bands all their music began to mix together. Did you see Alice Coopers Love it to Death tour? He opened for John Mayall. Didn't stay for his portion of the show. gen70 10-16-2009, 01:54 PM I use to have a "Hot Tuna" LP. Is Papa John Creech still alive? Never saw Alice Cooper. papaOU 10-16-2009, 03:01 PM Died in 1994. Bigrayok 10-16-2009, 09:49 PM Hot Tuna played in Oklahoma City recently. I think they were at the Conservatory on Western of all places. Blue Cheer played there also. I noticed the bass player of Blue Cheer recently died. I am into seventies classic rock and progressive rock. I never saw Kansas in the 70's but have seen them 46 times since 1992. They just released a DVD recorded with the Washburn University Symphony that I had the privilege of attending the taping. Kerry Livgren, who wrote Carry on Wayard Son and Dust in the Wind performed on a few songs although he is not a current member of the band. Unfortunatley, he had a massive stroke on September 1 and can not play the guitar right now. The DVD is really good. I saw Yes and Asia this summer in Fort Worth at the Bass Music Hall Downtown. They actually played the Muskogee Civic Center the next night to about 400 people. Steve Howe played guitar for both bands on that tour. He is about 62 years old and can still play really well. You had: Dylan, Joan Baez, Roger Mcquinn, Kinky Friedman (of the Flying Burrito Brothers fame and a candidate for Texas governor in 2010) and others I am sure. Jennifer Nettles (Sugarland) is so much like Janis Joplin that it is "wild". I guess the country story telling is what I look for....."you belong to me"...and "15" is more for the teenie boppers....and I'm Not against that but, it's just not country. He is best when he is just one guy with a guitar, singing his own music. I've heard him with my own ears and he does a great job with just about any song he sings. He and I have a mutual friend who has a lot of the inside scoop on Garth. He has sold so many records because he has true talent and was savvy enough to hook it up with some marketing genius. I never heard the story where he got banned after a concert. I just thought it was because he started doing movies and quit touring anywhere for about 15 years. Wanda Jackson was one of the singers who sang before Elvis in the April 1956 show. That was at the Municipal Auditorium.
