Anyone experiencing headaches with the ONE LANE bottleneck on Broadway Extension? How long will that last?
View Full Version : Broadway Ext. (Northbound) OKCitizen 03-18-2009, 09:41 AM Anyone experiencing headaches with the ONE LANE bottleneck on Broadway Extension? How long will that last? fuzzytoad 03-18-2009, 10:07 AM yes, I am. it took me 2 hours to get home last night because of the one-lane fiasco. I wouldn't have been so mad if they had at lest put up a sign prior to being trapped with no way off for 2+ miles. Or if I had seen anyone actually doing any work along the road. Is NB Kelly still closed when trying to get into Edmond from downtown? Bobby821 03-18-2009, 01:14 PM It is back open to 2 lanes today. It was down to 1 lane yesturday while they were pouring concrete next to the closed down lane. Looks like they are almost finished with this construction all thats left is basically the bridge work they are working on. OKCisOK4me 03-18-2009, 05:19 PM It's just like 235 over NE 36th St. when they did all that construction. They're going to divert both north & southbound traffic to the true southbound side once it's completed (also like Shields south of downtown OKC) and then work on the true northbound lanes--bridge over Kelley/Kelly and access roads and ramps on the side. This project is not suppose to be completed until Fall/Winter 2009. hipsterdoofus 03-18-2009, 09:28 PM I've been taking Santa Fe home - I do understand what you are saying though - if the road construction people would bother looking to see where the traffic backs up to on these projects, they'd realize they need to move their warning signs back. ImTheDude 03-18-2009, 10:44 PM FYI, they are about 6 months ahead of schedule on this project and it will be completed by end of September/first of October. ImTheDude 03-23-2009, 07:10 AM That's still still Fall 2009... Well, its better than the original date of Feb./March 2010. OKCisOK4me 03-23-2009, 02:42 PM Well, its better than the original date of Feb./March 2010. Lol, it's a petty argument but I can't help but add all the times I went on the ODOT website everyday from the point when this project was started and the target end date was always Fall/Winter 2009. It's a moot point, I know... |
