On 1520 in the afternoon, there is a talk show called Bill Handel on the Law, where he offers, often hillarious, "marginal legal advice". There is this zaidigo song that he plays, for those who have heard it, can they tell me what it is?

Nick.

Oh.. gosh. I forget. I will just have to call in, that promises to be embarassing. Heh.

It's either a zaidigo or jazz song... the lines completely excape my mind.

Yeah, yeah. I have never seen it spelled, I have heard it all my life though.

I will try to find out for you. I am the Creative Services Director (Production) for Super Talk 930 WKY (actually where the show airs, not 1520). I will shoot off an e-mail to the network and find out.

BTW, I agree. Handel is hilarious.

You've got questions, I've got answers (sometimes)

Hi Joel,

We get that question all the time, too. It’s a version of “Minnie the Moocher” performed by some unknown artist. It was recorded by an engineer years ago, but no one has been able to track down the name of the artist.

I wish I could be of more help.

Best,

Donna Susskind

I'll bet that must be horrible. I haven't been in this thread for awhile, I am glad I now know. Now I can try to find the author...

Thanks!

Hey folks here’s the story ’bout minnie the moocher
She was a lowdown hoocie coocher
She was the roughest toughest frail
But minnie had a heart as big as a whale

Hidehidehidehi (hidehidehidehi)
Hodehodehodeho (hodehodehodeho)
Hedehedehedehe (hedehedehedehe)
Hidehidehideho (hidehidehideho)

She messed around with a bloke named smokie
She loved him though he was cokey
He took her down to chinatown
And showed her how to kick the gong around

Hidehidehidehi (hidehidehidehi)
Whoah (whoah)
Hedehedehedehe (hedehedehedehe)
A hidehidehideho (hidehidehideho)

She had a dream about the king of sweden
He gave her things that she was needin’
He gave her a home built of gold and steel
A diamond car with platinum wheels

A hidehidehidehidehidehidehi (hidehidehidehidehidehidehi)
Hodehodehodehodehodehodeho (hodehodehodehodehodehodeho)
... (...)
... (...)

He gave her his townhouse and his racing horses
Each meal she ate was a dozen courses
Had a million dollars worth of nickels and dimes
She sat around and counted them all a million times

Hidehidehidehi (hidehidehidehi)
Hodehodehodeho (hodehodehodeho)
Hedehedehedehe (hedehedehedehe)
Hidehidehideho (hidehidehideho)

Poor min, poor min, poor minnie

The song was wrote by the Blues Brothers, Cab Calloway.

Here ya' go! Maybe you can email her back, and let her know so that she can help the next affiliate that calls or emails in to ask that.

I don't see a reference to Dan Ackroyd or John Belushi there hepcat. Ask for a refund from Rice

Du what now- Are we bringing out the logomachist ad hominem attacks on me? Firstly, I never said anything about Ackroyd or Belushi, and secondly, there is nothing to debate. I nailed it, with help from Joel Reagan. It is Minnie the Moocher, by Cab Calloway. I provided a link for a cheasey free website for those who want to listen to it, and the case is closed. You remind me of someone, but I can't think of who...

Blues Brothers = Dan Ackroyd and John Belushi.

On second thought, you might ask for a redo from OU as well.

The whole eight years.

Try more than eight. The Blues Brothers is an entirely differant thing. The one I said was the name of the cd it is on............
