When I first started going to the Lions Club you would take your own records and they played on a hi-fi. Later they got a juke box and we picked the music and it played for free. Slow dancing is best remembered at the IOOF hall. It was upstairs and had wooden floors. Day or night the place was dark. Boys on one side of the room and girls on the other.

Hey was anyone listening to KOMA on a particular Friday (or could have been a Saturday) night in 1969 when they played Suspicion by Elvis and the version by Terry Stafford? They played them both one after the other for about an hour and had a poll as to who's version was the best. I believe Stafford won that one. His version was better than Elvis' in my opinion. I'm surprised I remember that.

Yes, I used to dance on "The Scene". They invited different schools each week. And yes, Ronnie Kay's wife, Deanna (I think that was her name), was there giving the boys instructions that they could NOT hold the girls close to them when slow dancing. She demonstrated on my boyfriend on NOT WHAT TO DO....he loved it, she was very well endowed!
