I've been meaning to write a thread on this place as it happens to be my new favorite sandwich shop. The one I go to is located on the intersection of 23rd street and Blackwelder across from Oklahoma City University. The subs there are better than most places like Quiznos & Subway because of many reasons. First, they provide a lot more meat. They really pile it on. Second, they use a special blend, called "Mike's way", that really adds a touch that puts this place above all other sub shops I've been to.

When I go for lunch, the line has been at some times out the door. Anyway, they have a few metro locations so I'd suggest checking them out.

I ate at that one last week. Had the Chipotle Cheesteak. Pretty tasty. They didn't pile it on mine, maybe you're just lucky.

I also had the Chocolate Tasty Kakes just to see what all the fuss was about. They are okay but nothing to right home about. This place is a great sandwich shop and I've been there several times, but they are a little on the pricey side compared to Subway, Quizno's and City Bites.

True, they can be pricey. fortunately, I get the student discount which shaves off about 15%.

I love Jersey Mike's!

And they're not any more expensive than Quiznos or City Bites.

I disagree. A foot long is like $10-11 bucks at Jersey Mikes, heck my regular cheesesteak was like $7.50 (5 inch) not including chips/drink. I can get a foot long or full or whatever they call it for like $6-8 at City Bites.

Actually there are three sizes: mini, regular and giant. The regular, which is around $7 is about 8-10 inches long. The giant is something like 14-16.

Why are there gaps in the menu item numbers at Jersey Mike's?

I've been wondering that since I first went there...Doesn't make any sense at all to have 15 different menu items but the numebrs range from something like 1 thru 35.

Oh GAWD the Smell!

The only number I need to know is 13.

And yup...I have it "my" way.

I've been to Jersey Mikes at least a couple dozen times, and I've gotten the #7 each and every time. Usually I'm not the person who gets stuck in a rut in getting the same thing, but it is just that good. Plus, it's actually the healthiest sandwich (fat-free turkey breast)

I think they have the best cheese steak in the metro (Chipotle Cheese Steak). However the $12 price does limit the number of times I go. Also I have tried their other hot or cold subs and would rater have Quiznos.

Been there twice. I too had the Chipotle Cheesteak and the family had cold sandwiches.

I agree they are tasty, but personally I didn't think they were so much better as to prefer them over Subway.

I go to Subway about 3-4 times a week. I've only been to Jersey Mikes twice and might go a few times a year.

I think a $5 footlong at Subway is a better value - though Jersey Mikes may be a slightly better sandwich. In this economy (or otherwise) I most often pick value.

Just to be different.

Jersey Mike's is definitely the goods.

I've seen a bunch of posts about the chipotle cheesesteak, forget that.

You need to try the Big Kahuna cheesesteak if you haven't, it's got jalepenos and it's the bomb.

That's all.
