Shameless self promotion. I love it.

My realtor drove me nuts when we moved down here. I won't post his name.

Talk about a con artist. He was so full of crap he couldn't keep his story straight.

You can't judge a group by one or two people. When my wife and I were looking for houses, we ran into a realtor who was showing a house we'd found in the paper and she turned out to be great. She went WAY beyond what she needed to, given the amount of commission she stood to make.

No, I am not judging the whole group. Just this idiot I worked with.

This is off topic, I know, but speaking of con artists, I recently went to Hyundai Auto Max in Del City to buy a car. Those guys are so dishonest they make your head spin. :dizzy: Seriously, avoid them!

I've had good luck at Automax... it all depends on who you get.

Or, maybe you got taken for a ride and just don't know it.

No I think Luke has it right. I bought my car there recently. I think I took them for a ride instead. Starting with the test drive. You should have seen the salesman's face while I was testing corning, acceleration, and braking. http://www.cruiselinefans.com/images/smilies/lol.gif

By the end of the evening, I had a car, down at my asking price, an extended warranty and some other little goodies thrown in, and the manager was practically begging for mercy. I may go there and buy another one in a couple of months.

You just have to let them know who's boss. The salesman started off by trying to lead me around the lot to the cheapest crap they had. I let him know I was bored and about to leave. That woke him up. Sure, they'll be dishonest and walk all over you if you let them. But if you do your research and act like you're on to them from the beginning, they'll straighten up and fly right.

I think you made my point. They ARE dishonest, as most car dealers are. I don't let them walk all over me when I negotiate a car deal. I used to sell cars back when I was younger, so I do know a little bit about the business.

I have no idea what the guy would have done if I had decided to buy one of the cars he was leading me to. Maybe I would have gotten a great deal. I don't know. I don't let it get that far. So I have no idea if they're dishonest or not. That wasn't my experience. And evidently, it wasn't Luke's either. But when you've got guys working on commission, there are probably a few who will try to milk it for whatever they can get.

My family was in the car business once upon a time, so I spent many hours hanging out in the showroom as a kid. I know a little bit too.
