ElmoFromOK 08-18-2009, 12:41 PM I love this building. Hope the food can live up to the years of anticipation.

ddavidson8 08-18-2009, 03:33 PM Yes, it's nice to see an original building that stands out from all the IHOPS of this world.

Following a lengthy wait, Laredo’s could open soon
BY STEVE LACKMEYER
Published: August 20, 2009
Julian Gonzalez is a bit gun-shy about committing to an opening for his family’s Laredo’s Mexican Restaurant, even though he celebrated receiving an occupancy permit from the city this week.
Aug 19 Laredo's Mexican Restaurant at Belle Isle in NW OKC is opening soon after 4 years of construction.
Hopefully, he says, it will be open next month. Maybe sometime in September, customers will get to see for themselves the restaurant at 5111 N Classen Blvd. that took four years to build.

soonerguru 08-20-2009, 09:50 AM Love the headline. If that doesn't say it, I'm not sure what would.
Seriously, though. The interior sounds very cool. I don't mind waiting another month or so.
Steve 08-20-2009, 11:24 AM Warren, just once more I'd like to say thanks for how you're posting these stories. I really appreciate it.
kevinpate 08-20-2009, 12:45 PM very pretty interior. Steve, tell your cam folks they done good!

Not a problem Steve. You know I have a lot of respect for what you do.
ddavidson8 08-20-2009, 02:14 PM Again, I hope the food doesn't change too much.
Steve 08-20-2009, 03:54 PM There were a lot more cool photos. I know it's not downtown, but would anyone mind if I post them at OKC Central anyway?

You mean to say we have veto power over what you post in your blog? :woowoo:
kevinpate 08-21-2009, 09:47 PM so long as you don't do a whole series on coffee haus chairs, i don't see me rising in protest to your content decisions

sooners83 08-25-2009, 10:06 AM Anyone been by this week? Have they started the soft opening yet?

kevinpate 08-30-2009, 01:22 PM Haven't heard otherwise, so I think we may still be in 'soon" mode.
