Thanks for posting this. I think I may at least run out to Luther this afternoon and look at that part. The old gas station/counterfeiter's hideaway was fascinating.

In a very understated way, this is one of prettier areas of Oklahoma County. Since it's off the interstates, it tends to be out of our consciousness. Well worth going to this area in which natural beauty has been preserved, I'm thinking. Would like to hear what you thought, jsibelius, if you went today.

We went around sunset. We really enjoyed the drive on the old road. There's something about overgrowth and the absence of power lines (at least I don't remember any power lines). Plus the absence of other cars and people. It's an odd sensation.

By the time we stopped at the old gas station, it was getting pretty dark, but it was still a neat piece of history to get to see for myself. It's one thing to read about history. It's another to stand in front of it and soak it in. Thanks again.
