View Full Version : Book store in Edmond?
Does anyone know of plans to put in a Barnes & Noble, Borders, etc. in Edmond? My wife and I hope that one will go in every time we see a large retail space open up, but we get shot down every time. Will we ever get one? or is the Quail Springs corridor too close?
jbrown84 10-20-2008, 04:05 PM I would think one would go into the Bryant & 15th/2nd area at some point. That's far enough from Quail Springs. For now, there's Best of Books in Kickingbird Square.
hipsterdoofus 10-20-2008, 08:27 PM They probably figure as always that they can just keep getting Edmondites to go to Penn & Memorial...
El Gato Pollo Loco!!! 10-20-2008, 11:53 PM Barnes and Noble is over priced anyway. I'd rather have a Borders.
OKCitizen 10-21-2008, 08:26 AM I second for Border's!
Borders would be great! But at this point I would take anything.
OKCitizen 11-18-2008, 11:11 AM Books A Million and Barnes & Noble ... both in front of Quail Springs Mall. I love Border's and wish Edmond would adopt them.
Yeah, I know about the ones over by Quail Springs, but we live in East Edmond so they aren't real convenient for us. I have heard a rumor that Borders is going in somewhere on 2nd between Bryant and Coltrane, but haven't confirmed it.
Midtowner 11-21-2008, 02:44 PM Best of Books is great.
Local businesses > megachains.
jbrown84 11-21-2008, 07:02 PM Best of Books does a great job bringing in authors for book signings. That's the advantage of the locals. Full Circle is the same way.
BOB has Mike Huckabee doing a signing this week.

Has? Or Had? I'd love to meet him.
I could go for a Hastings here. If we had that, I wouldn't miss Borders or BN either one. And Blockbuster could go away too, for that matter.
jbrown84 11-21-2008, 09:25 PM It's in the next few days I believe.

Well if it's this week, then it has to be tomorrow. Otherwise, it's next week...or later. Guess I'll have to drive by on the way home and have a "look-see."
jbrown84 11-21-2008, 09:57 PM Tomorrow 11 a.m. to noon.

jsibelius 11-21-2008, 09:58 PM That's different. And I may be out of luck, then. Fooey.

Edmond Earl 01-11-2009, 06:42 PM Ive heard that Borders is looking at a location on Bryant.
jbrown84 01-12-2009, 12:55 PM In the 15th-2nd area?
jsibelius 01-12-2009, 06:27 PM Maybe they'll put in for a spot in the new Spring Creek center when its finished.
