View Full Version : Cascata Ristorante to close... Chefdavies 10-14-2008, 03:41 PM ...So i've heard and lottenville to move into their location. Is this old news? I've been out of town and just found out today. bretthexum 10-14-2008, 03:51 PM Hadn't heard. But I've always thought that place to be over-rated anyway. Chefdavies 10-14-2008, 03:57 PM Yeah, I have never worked there or eaten there. Always thought it was crowded, but crowds dont mean your doing a good buisness. jbrown84 10-14-2008, 04:16 PM Interesting. I always wanted to try it. Oh well. Millie 10-14-2008, 04:48 PM Interesting. I always wanted to try it. Oh well. You didn't miss much. The food was way overpriced and not very good. jsibelius 10-14-2008, 09:03 PM Just as well I never made it over there, I suppose. I like Othello's. But Lottinville's is moving in? I don't know if I like that... Lottinville's current location just seems to fit its character. Except the parking lot needs more room. And a LOT of repair. hipsterdoofus 10-15-2008, 08:46 AM Went in there once not knowing the prices and left quickly...not really sure how they stayed in business at that location...oh well... jbrown84 10-15-2008, 12:44 PM Well I had always heard it was good, and given it was Edmond, I wasn't surprised at the prices. But if it wasn't good food, well that's a different story. Nefarious 10-18-2008, 12:34 PM I've wanted to try there, but never have. I'm not sure that's a good move for Lottinville's. Haven't been there in a few years though. OKCitizen 10-21-2008, 08:25 AM I like the Lottinvilles location. The log cabin atmosphere is very nice and fits with their wood grill dining. The Cascata design doesn't really fit the Lottinville style. RealtorJoe 10-21-2008, 11:24 AM I couldn't disagree more. I think the food is fantastic. It is not your typical Italian restaurant, so maybe that is why some of you guys don't like it. Midtowner 10-21-2008, 12:13 PM Edmond isn't a place where fine dining/innovative concepts do very well. It seems that to succeed, a kid-friendly menu is a must, i.e., cheesburgers, pizza and nachos. jbrown84 10-21-2008, 12:22 PM Boulevard Steakhouse Cafe 501 bwana_bob 10-21-2008, 09:59 PM Lottinvilles Wood Grille Twelve Oaks Le Cep Bistro Zarate's Latin Mexican Grill Othello's (different ownership than Norman so similar but not the same) Kang's Asian Bistro The Old Downtown Guy 10-22-2008, 07:41 AM I’m not at all surprised. Mediocre food at high prices has little appeal anywhere. kevinpate 10-22-2008, 08:05 AM > Mediocre food at high prices has little appeal anywhere except sporting venues, state fairs and other captive audience situations :) mturner 10-29-2008, 11:54 AM I agree. Had been to Cascata twice (I'll usually give places a second chance) and food was mediocre. Comparable to a large chain (& no please don't get that thread going again) in that there wasn't anything unique or special, and some dishes I definitely make better. Additionally, the acoustics were awful. I hope something good moves in but as of now, my family and I still trek down to city center for good meals. iguana, 1492, Deep fork etc.... VintageRacer 11-10-2008, 08:00 PM Drove by both resturants yesteday and work was being done at both places. Carpenters were outside of Cascata with saws buzzing and looked like workers were emptying the log cabin. |
