View Full Version : Our 1st Ever Game
Doug Loudenback 10-04-2008, 06:57 AM Though only a preseason game, and maybe not a very good one at that, since it IS the Thunder's 1st game ever, I've done a brief blog post in honor of the game: Doug Dawgz Blog: Our 1st Ever Thunder Game (http://dougdawg.blogspot.com/2008/10/our-1st-ever-thunder-game.html)
It looks like the scenery up there is pretty incredible ...

Here's where the game will be played just 4 days from now ...

jbrown84 10-04-2008, 11:04 AM But, still, it's apparently a fairly big deal in Billings.
Considering we never really got any NBA exhibition games pre-Ford Center, I'd say it's a pretty big deal for a city less than one tenth our size to be getting it's 3rd such game since 2001. Good for them.

It's still good to get the facts straight.
NativeOkie 10-06-2008, 03:23 PM Great idea the T-Wolves have in building a fan base by playing in Montana.
This is the 3rd such trip I believe.
Maybe we (OKC) should do this next year.
Preseason in Wichita, or KC, Amarillo, Shoot why not St.Louis?
Doug Loudenback 10-06-2008, 03:42 PM Here's an MS Maps aerial of the arena ... looks nice ...

OKCMallen 10-08-2008, 12:22 PM I'll be at the Cock o' the Walk watching tonight!
I'm pumped. I've set KSBI to record as I have a prior engagement that will last till about 8:30 or so. I hope to catch up during commercial breaks.
It is on KSBI tonight... right?

I went to two games at the Myriad before the Ford Center was built - Saw Chuck Barkley play with the Suns.

That's what everyone's saying, but the Cox guide still shows Matlock and In the Heat of the Night. Might make it hard to DVR the game...

Yeah, that's what everyone is saying... and my Dish guide says the same thing your says. I'm just going to record the four shows that are on starting at 7:00PM and hoping for the best.
Perhaps the news was so new that the guides couldn't get updated? I dunno... HOpefully it works out.
OKCMallen 10-08-2008, 01:56 PM It's says KSBI on everything else....surely that's correct.
EvokeCoffee 10-08-2008, 04:00 PM So, Billings is actually a pretty nice place to be. While not the best city in Montana - still great.
We just moved from Bozeman, Montana in February and I'm glad to see MT getting back on the map!
I'm excited for the game and even more excited that it is being played in Montana.
Laramie 10-11-2008, 10:15 AM Doug:

Thank you!
