Did anybody attend the concert last week? That would have been the 20th.

It was a concert of Rogers and Hammerstein and it was very good.

Lawton has a philharmonic?

A good one. It's been around since @1962.

Yes, it's a professional orchestra.

Did anyone attend last weekends performance by the LPO? The program had
Hindemith's Symphonic Metamorphoses, Kabelevsky's Colas Overture and
Sibelius' Symphony #2.

It was very good.

I heard a while that the Lawton Phil was in a funding crisis and figured that they went away. Glad to hear they stuck through it and the notes are still playing!

A few years back we had horrible negotiations between the union thug and the
board of directors (one in particular). Neither would budge and the LPO was out
for a couple of years. Funny thing, the board said they needed $30,000 to make
up for the minuscule cuts the orchestra was asked to take. The city council offered
them the money and they refused.

It was really a battle of egos.

The next concert is in April. It's going to be great!

date, location, ticket range? Like some others, I wasn't aware of the LPO.

Here is the link to Lawton Philharmonic Orchestra (http://www.lawtonphil.com/season.html)

It looks like you'll have to email or call the box office for ticket prices.
The concert is at McMahon Auditorium. It's a great place for concerts.

David Kim, the soloist, is a world class musician.
