My guess is it will be cox but I haven't heard anything yet... betts 09-28-2008, 07:31 AM I'm betting it's FSN, but I don't believe it's been announced. Maybe tomorrow.... Laramie 09-28-2008, 02:23 PM Betts is correct. The early indications seem to favor Fox Sports Southwest and this will probably cut into the Dallas Mavericks, media market. Poor Mark "Cucumber" Cuban, no wonder he was against Oklahoma City joining the NBA. The telecast announcers have worked or have current contracts with Fox Sports in some capacity. metro 09-28-2008, 07:04 PM Interesting. If Fox Sports SW gets the contract, hopefully they'll give Oklahoma more slack and coverage. I get tired of watching tons of TEXAS commercials every time they televise an OU game or anything else I'm watching. Tomorrow the uni's and other logos get unveiled so maybe they will announce tv contract as well. Lord Helmet 09-29-2008, 12:06 PM Confirmed today...FSN Oklahoma: FS Oklahoma to air Thunder games | NewsOK.com (http://newsok.com/fs-oklahoma-to-air-thunder-games/article/3304544/?tm=1222703376) BDP 09-29-2008, 02:01 PM Nice. I bet they had to spin it off to satisfy their contracts with Texas teams. Since it's a new network and no one had exclusive rights to the Oklahoma market. I do wonder if it means that some games will air in Texas on FSSW when their Texas teams aren't playing. OKCisOK4me 09-29-2008, 05:09 PM My question is do they open up a studio here in the OKC market? It seems pretty reasonable especially if they're going to have some ad guys go out and get some local businesses on air for commercials. Imagine us having our own 24/7 sports station. Pretty cool. metro 09-30-2008, 09:10 AM OKCisOK4me, I asked the same question in the other thread in Metro Area discussing this. The article states the studio will be in Dallas, TX. At least for now. Programming will be limited for awhile. Hopefully when they expand programming they will build an OKC office, hopefully downtown OKC. Maybe we can start another email campaign and encourage them to build a downtown OKC studio. Oh, and as far as commercials, that would be done with COX, DirectTV or Dish Network's reps. Individual stations on cable don't sell their own advertising, but the SERVICE PROVIDER sells ads for all the stations on cable or satellite. |
