I saw that its opening just west of Fridays on memorial, near Quail Springs Mall. I'll have to check it out when it opens up.

foodies boxes tend to either be one off unique destinations or gather in packs near a spot until they spread like a weal virus into another new foodie row, seeking to snare their share of wave after wave of the undecided.

Seeing as how we just lost Steak and Ale at May and Memorial,
adding Longhorn is a wash.........

I think the Texas Roadhouse is hard to beat. They have awesome steak if you ask me.

I think the real place that's hard to beat is Outback. Longhorn might do it, too.

I checked out the website, it looks like they will have live music starring some of the up and coming country music stars.

LongHorn Steakhouse (http://www.longhornsteakhouse.com/default.asp)

~ WELCOME TO LIVE AT LONGHORN ~ (http://liveatlonghorn.com/welcome.html)

However, after a little investigating I found out that it is owned by Darden the same people who Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Bahama Breeze, Seasons 52 and Capitol Grille.

i don't like the name. if they put in a SOONER STEAKHOUSE i'd be more apt to go.

no way I am eating at a place named Longhorn and I have been boycotting Darden restaurants since they closed the Bahama Breeze on the lake

I saw this Saturday night. I was not overly excited. Another medium grade chain restaurant with steak. Whoo. And here's a brilliant idea, name it after our biggest rivalry and then open it the same weekend college football kicks off. Genius.
Not in the plans to eat there anytime soon.

according to there restaurant locator, they have no restaurants in texas. most of the places are in the east coast where they know there beef. is this a real steakhouse?

also on their web site it says "welcome to the west" and they have one place in arizona (west). sounds like they are a texas roadhouse want-a be's to me.

You cant be serious? Just because of the name? If you need a reason not to eat there, how about because its just not that great of steak, not because the name has Longhorn in it.

Anyways, price not being a factor, The Ranch is definitely the best steak restaraunt in the city

There is a Kona Ranch something or other on South Meridian. Not sure of their fare.

The Ranch being referred to is on Britton Road between the Hefner Parkway and North May Avenue.
