I've got an idea and I am posting the guidelines of this contest in hopes that someone may be interested in partnering with me in some imagineering...

This is a contest sponsored by Disney Imagineers. They're the ones that dream, design and then create the magic behind every detail of Disney parks. The contest is basically to come up with an idea and present it to Disney Imagineers.

Here's the competition info. straight from the competition's site:

"If you have a passion for creative and innovative design, here's an opportunity to work with one of the most creative organizations in family entertainment. Created and sponsored by Walt Disney Imagineering, the ImagiNations Design Competition offers opportunities for diverse students to showcase their talents. You can win a 10-day all-expense-paid trip to present your project to a panel of Walt Disney Imagineering executives and have the opportunity to compete for the "Best in Show" awards. This incredible opportunity will provide participants with insight into Disney's creative process, and learn what it takes to succeed in an innovative organization. Additionally, all qualified applicants will be considered for Internship opportunities with Walt Disney Imagineering.

Imagineers are challenged to build on the Disney legacy of great storytelling to pioneer new forms of entertainment through technical innovation and creativity. The ImagiNations competition encourages you to do the same! Past winners of the competition have gone on to serve internships at Imagineering and some have become full-time Imagineers."

Last month my wife, daughter and I went to the Magic Kingdom at Disney World and were struck by how much intricate detail Disney puts into everything they do. So, I thought this would be a great opportunity to combine the creativity of Disney with the uniqueness of an Oklahoma branded idea in order to enter into this competition.

Ideally, a lead artist/designer is needed for the storyboards, drafts, web sites or models that are created. Next, someone who is good at schematics, engineering and the making of an undoable idea completely DOable.

Plus, this whole thing sounds like it would be fun!

Should we win, I would hope the opportunity to visit Imagineering headquarters on a 10 day all expense paid trip would be worth it. Plus, great opportunities would arise. But, that's a ways away...

First thing's first...

If you ARE interested, basically we have to fill out an entry form and then submit resumes. The resumes should highlight, where possible...

-Creativity/Originality
-Illustration/Artwork/Visuals
-Use of Technology
-Guest Experience
-Entertainment Value
-Quality of Presentation
-Diversity/Inclusive nature of proposed entry
-Global Perspective

Because we will be partnering with a non-profit theatre arts organization, the requirement about being a student doesn't apply.

If the entry form and resumes are accepted, THEN we begin putting together the presentation.

Here's all the information... Look it over and PM me if interested.
