Hey everyone,
I noticed a lot of Cafe Nova alums are now working at the Iguana, and Nova's former chef is now at the Prohibition Room. Open discussion on how Nova is doing with the turnover - have they been able to attract equally talented people to keep their concept competitive with all the other new establishments in the metro area?
I have only been there for drinks the last few times, so I haven't been able to see if there are any menu changes, or how service is compared to before.

interesting. Funny how good old Bachelor John Paul Merritt thought his restaurant was the coolest in OKC and how Western was going to be the most happening place in 5 years when he opened this sucka. I can't believe that he couldn't forsee MidTown, AA, and C2S becoming hippier areas with more potential. Anyhow, I do like Nova's food and atmosphere so I hope they can survive all the turnover.

I've heard Nova has become much more a place to hang out and have drinks than a restaurant. Perhaps there's less attention to the menu if that's the case. I always liked their lunch, but must admit I haven't been there in a while.

I went there last Spring and must say was very disappointed with the meal. My husband's meal was hardly even edible. I had been there before and thought it was quite good.

They have one of the best atmosphere's in town, even if their food isn't always the BEST. It's still excellent. And it's only a bar/club late at night.

I was recruited to work there after interviewing with another Deep Fork restaurant, almost 2 years ago. I worked there for about two weeks and decided to quit. It just wasn't my style. I gotta say that it was a great restaurant and great staff at the time. They had a really good lunch menu that changed weekly. The chef practically lived there. I haven't been there since, but I certainly hope they remain a staple of Western Avenue.
I opened the Cafe Nova. Great concept, great staff and VERY high standards.
Food service normally has very high turnover and anyone running at this high a level and doing this kind of volume is going to go through a lot of different staff.

I used to frequent NOVA in early 07 and it was a happening place! I was there a few months ago (I went 2 weeks im a row) and must say I was verrry disappointed with the quality of people that were dining/drinking there...I must say its gone down hill since last year. I loved going their with friends and drinking casa nova's!

Hiya ~
We went to Cafe Nova with a group of friends recently, but no one ate. Every time we stop there it is just for drinks.
XO ~
