Steak N Ale at May & Memorial has been demolished. There are no traces of the said restaurant as all that remains is a small tract of smoothed dirt.

I loved the salad bar at Steak & Ale. I could get a small steak, baked potato, and the salad bar for a reasonable price and have leftovers to take home. My sister worked the bar at both the location at I-40 and Meridian and NW Expressway and May. That had to be around 35 years ago, though! :o

OKC has come a long way. I remember when Steak and Ale was the "special occasion" restaurant in OKC.

"Arnold inked a 15-store deal in the Midwest and holds exclusive rights for expansion in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, and South Dakota."

I was a regular there back in the day. Is it an upscale steakhouse? No
Did I love it? Yes
