Wow I remember "the Wild Mouse" probably the only ride I was old enough to ride!

Didn't know the original pool was still being used:

RIP, Maurice. That was a great little park in its day.

Wedgewood opened in 1958 and my parents bought a new house on NW 64th, just west of Meridian in 1963. At that time, there was nothing between our house and Wedgewood and Lake Hefner.

As a family, we went to Wedgewood many times over the years and swam at that big pool a lot, too.

I have some old family movie video that I should upload at some point, as there is some good footage of that park.

That'd be cool to see! It would bring back alot of memories!

This video is poor quality as it was taken from old Super 8 film, but you see lots of good scenes of the old park and pool:

Wow, Pete! Talk about bringing back memories!! I'm impressed you were able to get the film digitized and it turn out so well on YouTube. Great film of the park (of which I'm sure there's not a lot just laying around these days). Thank you for taking the time to share this! Really. I'm feeling 1965ish all over again after that.

In addition to the pool...the old foot bridge that went over the river ride canal that connected the park to the parking lot is still there also. It is behind the AM/PM clinic or whatever that is on the north side of NW Hwy just to the east of TGI Fridays. You can easily see the bridge from the TGIF's parking lot.

Thanks yukong for the suggestion! The bridge is behind the Wedgewood Animal Clinic, and is easy to walk to from the TGIF. I took these with my crappy phone cam:

You can walk up to the apex of the bridge, but there is a tall fence going across it, and the other side just goes into a stockade fence???

At the top, you can almost see the pool, and I distinctly remember being able to see the high dives from the bridge! You can also see the layers of paint that were put on the fence posts of the bridge as well.

Amazing that bridge is still there considering it hasn't been used for decades.

I had no idea!

Kind of cool and sad at the same time.

It'll probably either fall of it's own accord or be unceremoniously destroyed like the old bridge on Western.
