Who's standing in line tonight for the Big Opening tonight?

Obviously I'm not.. but if it were up to the kids, we'd be there right now. Thank goodness we're not a democracy around here.

My ex called earlier and said that she was 4th in line at the warren and had been in line since about 6pm for the midnight showing.

They've done it again. Nolan and Bale's Batman films will go down in history as the greatest super-hero saga put to film. The Dark Knight is so complex, so thematically rich, it's impossible to absorb every layer in a single viewing. As Batman Begins was a meditation on fear, so The Dark Knight takes it a step futher by examining the good and evil that is in us all. Ledger's performance is truly haunting.

10/10 or A+

Yup. Tried online yesterday around 6pm, and got confirmation from my ex, who had talked to a manager while in line waiting for the midnight showing.

Correction....

It would seem that since last night, more showings have been added and now there are tickets available for this weekend.

Just to be safe, it might be a good idea to call the theater ahead of time. Who knows how accurate the online sales are or how often the system updates itself.

The 11:15 pm showing at Warren was not a newly added showing and my friend bought tickets for tonights 11:15 showing just about 10 minutes ago. So someone must be telling you a story if they're saying it's all sold out. However, I did call Warren the other day and they told me that the balcony was sold out until Monday. Maybe that's what you're thinking of.

That makes more sense. I jsut bought a ticket for Bricktown at 830 tonight online. If an 830 showing isn't sold out in Bricktown, I can't imagine Warren being sold out entirely all weekend.

I know that I tried to buy tix online yesterday (for Friday, saturday, sunday or monday) and there were no showings available for purchase. And I have no reason to doubt my ex, who was there at the time.

It is entirely possible that the availability of the tix your friend purchased today wasn't the same availability as last night when I tried.

Bottom line is: there are now tix available online for purchase.

Well, he originally bought 'em for Saturday night at 11:15 but one member of our group decided he wanted to see it tonight so they exchanged his tickets. They said that there were plenty of tickets left for that showing tonight.

Very weird.

I just got my tix for 605p on Sunday evening.

The girl at the counter said that for a period of time yesterday evening all online and walk-up sales were closed off.

So who knows for sure what's going on up there. LOL

Just saw the 10:15 AM viewing. WOW!!!!! That was an awesome movie. It was so rich with character details. It is just a shame that Heath Ledger will not be able to portray this character again (Sorry if this is a spoiler for some). He was genius with this role. Some parts are made for people, and Joker was talor-made for Heath Ledger. RIP Heath. Eckhart did a great job in portraying the yin and yang that is Two-Face. Christian Bale was good, but I hate the his lisp when he is in the Batman costume. It gets a little annoying. Overall, best movie of the year so far. And best superhero/comic book portrayal yet.

I saw it last night at warren (my first time there and was impressed) and the movie was pretty amazing. Some parts were drug out a bit but the the only gripe. A def must see.

I ordered tickets for Harkins on Movietickets.com at about 4:30 yesterday. We went to the 9:40 showing. We got there at 7:30. We were one of the first one's in the theatre, but in the end it was packed. That was one of the best movies I have ever seen!!! The acting and special effects were amazing! Heath Ledger's Joker should be award winning. I wonder if they will make another one?

According to the Interwebs, Batman Begins 3 is already in the works. Debate is already occuring as to who the villians are going to be.

I guarantee you that somewhere out there, his family will be given a postmortem award for his performance as The Joker. Even if the man were still alive, he should be considered for this role in which he portrayed so perfectly. Make up department should get something too.

saw dark knight on friday at the warren... great movie. i agree that ledger's performance was great. he put a unique spin on the character and really made it 'his.' i really don't see how they can bring in somebody else to reprise the role... chances are such a performance would either come off entirely different or just be a cheap copy.

I stood in line last night to see the 10:50 showing at Harkins in BT. Now that I have seen it I can honestly say it was worth every second I stood in line for :) The effects and realism are top notch. They kind of tinkered on the edge of telling too many things in one movie but still managed to pull it off. I WILL be going again to see this in a couple weeks once the lines have started to die down.

I saw it last night. All I can say is it is a real shame that Ledger passed away... I would have loved to have seen several Batman vs. Joker movies....

Isn't anything sacred anymore? No one ever talks about the first Batman movie, with Michael Keaton and Kim Basinger. I loved that movie, it had so many charming scenes.

"It's Japanese."
"How do you know?"
"Cause I bought it in Japan."

The dinner when they sat at opposite ends of that huge table. Loved it.

When Kim Basinger was dancing with Jack Nicholson and she said, "Purple... I love purple."

It just doesn't get any better than that.

And I almost forgot the greatest line of all, "This town needs an enema."

I'm anxious to take the family - but I cannot imagine waiting in line for hours just to see a movie that is going to be around for a long time. I can think of dozens of more important, fun, etc. things to be doing. But, to each their own.

I am considering taking the wife tomorrow or Tuesday during the day to avoid the crowds.

Bailjumper, we went today to Quail Springs at 1:30pm .. no lines whatsoever.

It was an okay movie, Heath Ledger gave a stellar performance but ... maybe I expected too much.

DH fell asleep, kid behind me took two phone calls during the movie, girl in second row to the screen texted throughout the movie and her bright blue screen was on and off for the entire movie, 300 lb man three seats away slurped his soda, then took off his lid and straw and picked up his cup every 2 seconds to get a piece of ice which he crunched through every suspenseful dialogue part, then he would let the ice slam back down, over and over..

Finally, I leaned over my son and hissed ...' would you knock it off!! That's what a straw is for!' but my teenager almost died of embarrasment so I didn't pursue the matter.. until we got outside the theater and I said very loudly in the very close vicinity of the ice crunching imbecile ' the movie would have been much better if it weren't for rude people making so much bleeping noise!' He heard me.

I'm not kidding, I was seriously tempted to get up, grab his ice filled cup and pour it on his head. Big jerk. I'm thinking he was mentally challenged.. I can't believe someone would be that clueless, crass and just downright rude to ruin the movie experience for dozens of people sitting near him.

This goes in my movie rant... but you know, there is nothing really to be done during the movie. If you go get an usher, what can they do? They can't stop the movie to escort him out, God knows he couldn't fit past the knees of people to exit the theater.

I'm really sick of theaters.. I'll be happy if the Warren comes here and I can sit in the balcony.

Saw it Tuesday in BT at about 12:30pm. Only about 30 people in the entire theatre - which is exactly how I like it.

Was a good summer popcorn action movie. Nothing life altering like Shawshank or Schindler's List, but good entertainment.

I didn't really like the message i got from it - Society can't handle the truth and there has to be 'others' who decide what is best for the rest to know. But otherwise I might even consider buying the DVD (used).

I tried the other day to do that. 5 minutes later, I couldn't take anymore.

Heath Ledger makes Jack Nicholson look like a bad Ceasar Romero impersonator.

My only "problem" with "The Dark Knight" was that I felt that he needed to be in it more. Possibly the absolute best comic movie I think I've seen.

Yes the pencil thing was great.

Here's my one, tiny gripe with the Dark Knight. I felt it lacked a visual consistency with Batman Begins. We no longer had Wayne Manor or the Batcave. The Wayne Enterprises building was different (don't know why). The courtrooms even looked different. We didn't see Arkham or the Narrows, and the cityscapes in Begins just seemed more ambiguous, while in Dark Knight it was VERY obviously Chicago. The only location that is really recognizable in both is Gordon's apartment.

If you'll remember Wayne Manor got burned to the ground at the end of Begins. That's why he's living in the city now. He has to stay somewhere while it's being rebuilt.

Another thing that just really annoyed me was the voice used when he was dressed as Batman - Wayyyyyy overdone and too scratchy.

Yeah I knew that but I don't remember anything about why Wayne Enterprises would have changed buildings.

I FINALLY got to go see this the other day.

Great flick. I don't see the big fuss over Ledger's acting though. I don't think anybody would have made such a huge deal over it if he hadn't died. He did a great job no doubt...But (and keep in mind that I'm a child of the 80's) I think Jack's Joker might be a bit better.

This was a fantastic movie. We went to Tinseltown in the late afternoon on opening day, and it was a very nice experience except for when they cut the credits off early. I like sitting and watching the credits so I can process what I've just seen.

Personally, I don't like Burton's Batman. Never have. I was six when it came out and I didn't see it until I was about 13, and I fell asleep in the middle of it. Tried it again a few years later, fell asleep again. I finally made it all the way through once, and I was totally underwhelmed. But that's just me.
