It does look like a drive thru. metro 07-15-2008, 11:36 AM I believe it was supposed to be a Starbucks. I wonder if they quit since the recent announcement of closing 600 US Stores and no expansion plans? thanksarthur 07-15-2008, 04:54 PM it is a starbucks, or is scheduled to be. i think they're waiting to see how 36th and may goes and assess whether its worth opening it up. RocketDad65 07-15-2008, 05:14 PM Such a wonderful empty building for my part of the city. There is already a empty store just to the west and now this. Why would you build two so close then delay opening one to see how the other does? I am beginning to understand why they are closing 600 stores. jbrown84 07-15-2008, 09:00 PM The one at 36th and May is open. jbrown84 12-21-2008, 05:38 PM This building remains empty, with no signs that Starbucks has it for sale. Meanwhile, the old Git n' Go next door has been torn down and they are building something there. Foundation is up. I would love if it were a Chipotle or Panera. bornhere 12-21-2008, 06:55 PM It's a Panda Asian Drive-Thru, I've been told. scootinger 12-21-2008, 07:22 PM Has anyone seen any of the Starbucks around here that were slated for closing close? A few days ago I saw the one near me at Danforth and Santa Fe was open; yesterday I drove by and saw that the signs were gone and everything. The funny thing is that their "Now Open" sign was still up almost until the time that they closed.... jbrown84 12-21-2008, 07:53 PM It's a Panda Asian Drive-Thru, I've been told. Panda Express (http://www.pandaexpress.com/)? Bleh. lasomeday 12-22-2008, 07:35 AM Why would a Chinese food chain try to compete with all of the chinese/vietnamese food places on 23rd street? onthestrip 12-22-2008, 08:29 AM Because it probably can and will compete with those places. Do you think McDondalds has ever looked in an area and thought that there were too many burger joints already and decided to look elsewhere? Probably hasnt happpened many times. metro 12-22-2008, 08:59 AM Has anyone seen any of the Starbucks around here that were slated for closing close? If I were closing a business that wasn't making enough money, I'd want to make as much money as I can up until the last minute possible too. |
