Does anyone know when/why the Lone Star Steakhouse at NW Expressway closed? I worked there for a couple of years and have some good memories of the place. Just wondering what happened.

The other themed reataurants of Lone Star Funds are doing very well and they are preparing major franchise expansion of Texas Land & Cattle Company (http://www.texaslandandcattle.com)and are said to be close to expanding the very cool Sullivan's Steakhouse (http://www.sullivansteakhouse.com/)where there's live jazz and a Martini and Jazz lounge. There's not even any Lone Star's in Texas anymore! It's still the largest of the LSF (http://www.steakco.com/) restaurants, but the two mentioned above have the brightest futures. That's all from a close friend who is affiliated with LSF. ddavidson8 06-29-2008, 09:25 AM Actually the "Lone Star Steakhouse and Saloon" was never in Texas. Their other brands were, but Lone Star never was. Believe me, I had plenty of discussions with customers who swore they ate at one in Texas, but they didn't. At least that's the line that the corporate suits told us. They may have eaten at at Texas Roadhouse or Santa Fe, but not the Lone Star. Anyway, I'm sorry it's gone. I loved that place. solitude 06-29-2008, 02:35 PM Actually the "Lone Star Steakhouse and Saloon" was never in Texas. Their other brands were, but Lone Star never was. One would assume with the "Lone Star" theme - but I'm sure you're right. I know more about the chain since LSF took over. The plans to begin franchising Texas Land & Cattle is exciting. It would be a great opportunity for somebody here. A lot of people around Oklahoma City know their reputation from the Texas locations. VERY good food. Smoked steak is the specialty. Until you've actually had it - it's hard to imagine, but just thinking about it makes my mouth water. bornhere 06-29-2008, 04:14 PM I ate there a few times. It was okay, I guess, but hard to distinguish from the Road House or any of other peanut-shells-on-the-floor places. solitude 06-29-2008, 04:28 PM I ate there a few times. That's why when they begin franchising Texas Land & Cattle I hope somebody here jumps at the opportunity. It's the food itself that makes it different - but the theme concept of Sullivan's (1940's Jazz Lounge) would be great here too. Lone Star? Ehh - same old, same old. |
