View Full Version : New Restaurant South of SuperTarget???
molarman 06-05-2008, 08:59 PM Anybody know what the new structure being erected just south of the Norman SuperTarger is going to be? This area was originally planned for Ted's, but Ted's opened on the west side of I35. I have heard rumors of a Steak-n-Shake in the University Park North district. I was hoping for a Cheesecake Factory and not another fastfood place..
Any word on this?
When I drove by there I could barely see the sign, but it looked like it said Logans Roadhouse.
ouguy23 06-06-2008, 08:03 AM I saw the sign as well, and it will be a Logan's Roadhouse.
OKCMallen 06-06-2008, 08:26 AM Cuz we need more of those.....maybe it will put saltgrass out of business...I hate driving into Norman and seeing a GD texas flag flying and the side that says "TEXAS TO THE BONE"

Here we go again. So I wonder what's going to be different this time?
Jesseda 06-06-2008, 11:02 AM maybe they will give us something more than just peanuts to through on the floor, classy.

AMEN. "Texas to the bone" is absolutely the worst phrase I have ever heard.
Earth to Salt Grass... This is Oklahoma.
A few months back I heard there was going to be a Cheddars and Mimis Cafe next to Logans Roadhouse....
venture 06-09-2008, 09:43 AM Hum...still waiting for another seafood restaurant that isn't Red Lobster.
ultimatesooner 06-09-2008, 11:06 AM Cheddars is one of the only chain restaurants that I really really like.

I hear the one in the middle of the pond by Chili's is suppose to be a seafood restaurant. lol
Where's the irony in that ?!?

In a few months there will be sushi in Campus Corner...
venture 06-13-2008, 05:08 PM The only problem is, I don't get into sushi at all. It really turns my stomach for some reason. Give me some salmon with a little honey on top smoked on cedar...a bucket of mussels, a bowl of actual large shrimp, crab legs with actual meat in them, and lobster to die for. :)
Granted I was raised in the Great Lakes, so fish was always on the menu (smoked and fried walleye always hit the spot in the spring). Also got spoiled traveling to Seattle and Las Vegas where seafood is about as good as you can get. :)
kevinpate 06-13-2008, 06:19 PM Best prawns I ever had were at a small hole in the wall place in Coos Bay Oregon
Second best were in, of all places, Fort Smith Arkansas (family bias exists though as an Unkie ran their kitchen back in the day)

Vegas seafood is the best you've had? I hope I read that wrong.
brian 07-08-2008, 08:47 PM Vegas seafood is actually top notch at the high end restraunts. I have eaten seafood in vegas that is on par with that which I have had in Greece, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and various cities in the US with a coastline. Its not the stuff they freeze and sell at homeland to say the least.
Jesseda 07-09-2008, 06:36 AM dont knock homeland frozen lobsters that are just a bit larger than a crawfish.

Like Brian said, go to the high end restaurants (on the casino's tab of course) and you'll have seafood that ranks on par with all the best places.
Stan Silliman 01-29-2009, 09:45 AM The other restaurant is a Cheddars. Scheduled to open on Feb 2nd. One thing I notice, all their gourmet burgers under $ 5. Psst. Don't tell Chili's or Red Robin.
Stan Silliman 02-02-2009, 10:53 AM It is supposed to open today. If you go let us know how it was.
nik4411 02-10-2009, 10:39 PM Kevinpate, where exactly in Fort Smith was that at? Not sure if you'll get around to seeing this but i'm curious b/c that's is my hometown...sort of.
kevinpate 02-11-2009, 06:12 AM > where exactly in Fort Smith was that at?
A lifetime ago in retrospect. 8^)
Tomfoolery, in the Belle Grove District.
nik4411 02-11-2009, 10:04 AM I think that's an Italian joint? Interesting, never been there. Good ole Fort Smith, not a whole lot there, but I love the place.
