She said that they had heard about the Nostalgia and the Southside/Anyone can come meeting....If you'll look back there is a thread about Count Gregore and someone went to school with his kids or something. They The count and Elvira thought it was cool that he and they were being remembered and they just wanted to participate.....If you noticed, The Count even called some of the old Disc Jockey's or our Eras and invited them to the next meeting in October...So, don't be surprised......Good clean fun and doesn't cost much now does it????

She was Elvira? I honestly don't remember her. I know she wasn't Elvira of
the Night that was on cable, and might still be. Was the Count a DJ? Is he
on this thread? I'm not keeping up to date very well.

If I noticed? I don't know how to notice.

Who knows, Danny Williams might show at the next meeting. I guess it is now the THING to be a Southside Nostalgia member????? Oh well, we did have the Count and his Sidekick....Now back to reality does anyone remember when they changed the curve (Deadman's Curve) out on 74th Expressway (I-240)? Not trivia just got to talking about it and we couldn't remember the time frame that they moved and closed that death trap down....

Reading through some of the memories....How many of you guys used to stay up ALL Night and hear the top hits of the Previous year on New Years Eve night. Now, what did you do for other fun on that night? Easy PapaOU, I mean in your younger days...I remember playing Monopoly one new Years eve and we ended up playing a whole week-end before one of us lost.....Now It's bed time at around 9:30 and hope we wake up in the new year.....

Be careful with Danny Williams. The last time I remember anyone
mentioning 3D to him he was wasn't very happy about it. Maybe things
have changed.

As far as "Deadman's Curve" It was removed during the very late 80's and
very early 90's.

Why is it that guys wanted to take that curve so fast? I was one of them.
Because it was there?

I one saw the underside of an 18 wheeler's trailer from the passenger side
of a Triumph sports car. "Veer left, John! A WHOLE LOT LEFT!"

I can't tell you how many times the home along the curve were evacuated
because a natural gas truck wrecked on it.

I remember when they built the curve and thought it so dangerous I wouldn't drive around it. That was in the 60's but I didn't remember when they took it out. Makes you wonder what people are thinking when they do something that dumb. Just kidding about 3-D man he should be proud of what 3-D did for him and his career.....

yes, it did happen and they probably got the idea from WKRP Radio series. I told them that they would not fly....And about four or five just went "PLOP"....Smashed Turkey Sandwiches.....Couple of them made it but they were chased all over the neighborhood....Same way on an Easter Egg Drop...They dropped a bunch of Plastic Eggs from a Helicopter over by Reding....imagine how the current from the Rotor Blades did to those eggs....

Born and raised north side - more accurately the lower east Britton ghetto, up the street from the old Gridiron Drive In - now Earl's on Western. Became a southsider from about 1967 to 1969 and made a lot of friends. Hung out at The Spot, Al & Dub's, etc. along with Hollie's and Quick's. Burned a tanker load of gas up and down Classen, Western, Penn... Worked for a year at Little Jim's at almost every location, must mostly at Linwood & Virginia and on S. Central. Tough enough for ya? Kiddin, but not much.

Once again, I will not be able to attend. I will be going in to work today in about an hour. I'm having a routine preventative medical procedure on Monday and won't be working, so I simply have to work this weekend. (it's terrible being that important to a company, but someone has to run things! ;-0...

To Jimbo: I'd say you probably knew my two older sisters, but they hung out at Al & Dub's a few years earlier (their names are Shirley and Sharon, but USG grads, early 60s).

General: Remember, the Dana Delaney deal was the early 90's long spiral curled Dana. Good ol' Dana has aged a little. :-) Teri/Dana hit the big 5-0 on Nov. 12. Ouch! AND...one last thing...I hate root beer and my Coit's regular is a #14 with cheese.

Tends to set up shop at the Cleveland County fairgrounds now, on E Robinson, just a wee bit east of where Porter crosses Robinson. Still in April for 89'r days.

Seems like there is at least one other crew's tour that comes through each year as well. Not fitting such rides for some time, I don't pay a lot of attention to when they come and go.
