Someone could build a tough short track "stadium" and it would compliment TMS by offering a far different style of NASCAR racing.
You mean one where they don't drive in circles for three hours?
Sorry, but I don't see too many folks from the DFW area flocking to see a "lite" version of the same "full" NASCAR races they have within a comparative spitting distance.
But, hey, far be it from me if some developer has the spare cash to risk, go for it, but put it waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay faaaaaaaaaaaaar away from me.

I wouldn't say one is tougher than the other. One has the cars at 200mph and spread out over a track you can't see all of from the grandstand and the other have 125mph with a tighter pack and more "activity" among drivers as far as contact, etc. Same sport, just different challenges for the drivers. The Short Tracks (1 mile) on the Sprint Cup Series seem to have the reputation of being tougher, more "physical." A Sprint Cup race is a Sprint Cup race. If built, people would come. Especially since the closest Short Track races are on the east coast.

Give up on NASCAR-Sprint Cup and focus on the 100 other racing leagues.

Let me start off by saying I'm probably one of the biggest NASCAR fans around here.
As much as I would LOVE having a track here, it will probably never happen. We're too close to Texas Motor Speedway and Kansas to get a date on the Sprint Cup tour. And I agree, IF there would be a track here, it would have to be a short track.
I will say this, though: State Fair Speedway DOES need some remodeling.

That's been the case for 30 or so years.....
