I have been to a downtown "food court" type of resturaunt before, but I cannot remember where it was. I remember that you walked through a set of glass doors, walked around the staircase and went downstairs directly into the food court. Seems like they had chinese, american, gyros, pizza, etc. Can someone help me remember where it is. My mother-in-law is reporting to the federal courthouse for jury duty and the security there told her that there isn't anything decent around there. If this food court was close enough to walk to she would be very happy.

Or does anyone else have any ideas? It must be within walking distance of the federal courthouse.

I think you are talking about the tunnels downtown. I don't know what buildings have access to the tunnels but I think most major ones do.

I don't think so, it was definately part of the building. It was as wide as the ground floor, the glass doors were two double sets, and the staircase leading down was wide enough for four people to walk down side by side.

That sounds like the Robinson Renaissance building on the SW corner of Park & Robinson.

That sounds exactly like Robinson Renaissance. It's across the street from First National Tower.

I thought that it might be the building, but I didn't want to steer her wrong. She gets so confused downtown. It looks like it is only three blocks South of where she is.

There's a food court in the Robinson Renaissance as well as in Leadership Square.

Also, the Underground has a few food options as does First National.

Yep its the Renaissance Building.....couple of other suggestions - the Blue Plate Cafe and also Ricolettoss in the bottom part of Leadership Square.....awesome salad bar!!

This isn't the only "decent" food around the courthouse area though, and quite frankly, there are closer better options. The Museum Cafe is across the street on Hudson. Also on Hudson is The Olive Branch Cafe (Mediterranean). Close by on Main are classics Pizza House and Coney Island. Trattoria Il Centro is across the street. Closer to the courthouse is Subway, soon to be open Gaijin Sushi, and of course the food court in Leadership Square which has Ground Floor Cafe, City Bites, and Crave. Across from Robinson Renaissance is First National which has a pizza place and a few other places. Adjacent from RR is Quiznos and down the street is Carl's Jr./ Green Burrito. The Skirvin is also a quick walk away and has a restaurant. The Underground also has a few decent places to boot. I recommend China Chef!! There is also a Thai place just two blocks north of the courthouse.

I wonder what the courthouse security eats, if he isn't aware of all of these resturaunts within walking distance of the place that he has works.

I used to work downtown and wanted to take my wife and 7 year old son to the Robinson Renaissance food court. I haven't been there for 5 years and I was just wondering if any of you could help me out with a recommendation on which place to eat at. Is the Greek and Seafood place still there and do they have good gyro's ? Thanks for any help in this matter.

On a sidenote, I went to a wedding in the Renaissance Bldg about 20 years ago. Seating was in the main lobby with ceremony held on the staircase. Reception was held downstairs in the food court. Obviously, everything was closed for the weeked but it seemed to work.
