Thunder 02-14-2010, 10:47 PM I am still a smoker and switched to menthol. Lauri101 02-15-2010, 08:06 AM wtg dmoor82! It'll keep getting easier as you go along. Besides the obvious health benefits, did ya'll know that the hotel rooms rented to non-smokers are generally nicer than ones reserved for smokers? A friend of mine who works for Hilton told me that! rcjunkie 02-16-2010, 10:35 AM Congrats to those that have stopped smoking and good luck to those trying. I did experience something with a smoker this morning that upsets me, and don't attack me, thinking I'm picking on someone down on their luck or jobless. I stopped this morning for a cup of coffee at 7-11, the man in front of me purchased two cartons of cigarettes (90 plus dollars), then paid for cokes, chips and donuts with an Access card. I just wish people would/could, get their priorities straight. Thunder 02-16-2010, 11:00 AM Did he paid for the cigz with the Access card? If not, then don't worry about it. dmoor82 02-16-2010, 12:15 PM I am still a smoker and switched to menthol. ^^^^LOL,to each is own,I hated it when non-smokers tried to preach to me that it is bad,and you need to quit!:poke: rcjunkie 02-16-2010, 12:53 PM Did he paid for the cigz with the Access card? If not, then don't worry about it. NO, but if he can afford to buy cigarettes, why does he need an Access Card!! Sounds like system abuse. Wambo36 02-16-2010, 02:22 PM [/COLOR] NO, but if he can afford to buy cigarettes, why does he need an Access Card!! Sounds like system abuse. I have to say RC, something we completely agree on. rcjunkie 02-16-2010, 05:39 PM I have to say RC, something we completely agree on. Should we keep this to ourselves, it might be bad for our reputations. (just kidding) Take care and be safe!! Thunder 02-17-2010, 02:46 AM The state set up how much money people can have, I think it is called allowance. It's the person's decision to spend it on whatever he wishes, may it be clothes, gas, bills, or cigz. dmoor82 03-26-2010, 11:08 PM How's everyone doing with their smoking or non-smoking status? I am still smoke free, over 3 months now!!!!!! Lauri101 03-27-2010, 10:27 PM Way to go dmoor82!! You've got it now - you are a non-smoker! I hit my 2 year point last Monday - I don't miss it at all. Smokers are treated worse than ever now - I feel for the ones who still smoke! Thunder 06-02-2010, 05:01 PM Insurance is now covering Chantix. I have just received my 1st box and only paid 3 bux for it. Absolutely no smoking while on this miracle pills? Lauri101 06-03-2010, 03:05 AM smoke for first 7 days of taking, then stop. It's easie the more you take. Still smoke-free after 2 years and 3 months! Best part - I don't even want a cig. Thunder 06-03-2010, 09:28 AM Lauri, we should pick a day each year to smoke a cig together. :-) dmoor82 06-03-2010, 02:11 PM Truthfully, I just slipped up!I feel bad but I'm gonna try again! Kokopelli 06-03-2010, 02:42 PM Chantix can be effective but it also has some very serious side effect! Beware Lauri101 06-03-2010, 04:20 PM Chantix can be effective but it also has some very serious side effect! Beware Yes it can. I had a bit of stomach upset at first, which did settle down. The worst I experienced were the dreams...nightmares with a decidedly....hmmm...only way I can describe it on this forum is explicit...twist. I didn't have dreams like that even in my younger days...they were a bit disturbing. Lauri101 06-03-2010, 04:23 PM Truthfully, I just slipped up!I feel bad but I'm gonna try again! dmoor - I tried probably a hundred times before I quit...don't beat yourself up over it, just try again when you're ready! Thunder - are you smoke-free?? I'm proud of you! Nope - I won't ever even pick up one cigarette for one puff - it doesn't tempt me. Bunty 06-03-2010, 11:23 PM Insurance is now covering Chantix. I have just received my 1st box and only paid 3 bux for it. Absolutely no smoking while on this miracle pills? Sounds great, but after reading its side effects, some of them startling, have you been brave enough to use Chantix? They'e scary enough to keep me from taking up the habit of smoking. Thunder 06-03-2010, 11:28 PM I just started this morning. Next morning is another. In a few days, be twice, morning and night. After the first whole week, then it is the blue (stronger) pills. No side effects...yet. At work, I did feel sort of funny, but I do not know if it is related to the heat or not. I'm still smoking, maybe less. It said on the site that it is recommended to smoke the first week while the medication builds up. I think that I may notice a lil less craving. Maybe sleeping pills is advised to dissolve those dramatic dreams. I have some. I took one last night. I'll take one again tonight. kmf563 06-07-2010, 08:44 AM Lauri I'm so proud of you! Keep it up Thunder! It's been 10 months for me! I used the Chantix and too never want another one in my life. Back in Feb I had a drag and almost died. It was the grossest thing ever. I don't even want one now. Yes, there are terrible side effects from Chantix. For 3 months. Ever read the side effects of smoking?? Those last a life time. Thunder 06-07-2010, 12:51 PM Still no side effects yet. The only thing is that each cig is tasting horribly. :omg: Lauri101 06-07-2010, 05:30 PM kmf - 10 months is a win! I think you've got it - way to go! Thunder - I know you can do it. Drink lots of water - that seemed to help ease the side effects I had from Chantix. I got used to the dreams - I had more fun in them than in real life. ;) I look back and wonder why it took me so long to quit. Both my parents died young - and both were smokers until they died. Maybe I'll get to see my grandchildren graduate high school, get married and have children of their own - things neither of my folks got to do. When you're ready, you'll quit. One way or the other. dmoor82 06-24-2010, 09:56 PM Hows every1 doing with smoking?
