Just stumbled across this site the other day and thought I'd pass along the goodness. You can download free copies of books at the link below. Although they don't have a huge selection, there are quite a few good titles (especially classics) and are adding titles all the time. You might find something that interests you. The catch is that you are only allowed to download three titles per day and you must use a non-anonymous email account for registration (no Hotmail, Yahoo, etc). Most of the books I've downloaded are "sponsered" and come with an ad from Verizon inserted at the beginning of the book.

That's THE site for titles in the public domain. The Wowio site has a lot of titles that are still protected by copywrite, but thanks to the sponsorship we can get them free. Still, the Gutenberg site is head and shoulders above it in terms of sheer numbers of books offered. I've done a little of the distributed proofreading for them myself, which made me realize how glad I am that didn't take up proofreading as a profession. ;)
