We are looking at possibly buying a lake house on Cedar Lake in Hinton. Does anyone know anything about Cedar Lake?

The only thing I know about Hinton is Red Rock Canyon. If Cedar Lake has a similar topography, it might be pretty nice.

Wasn't this the lake some years ago that mysteriously drained overnight due to a large hole forming under it ????

Not seen it myself. I briefly visited by phone with a resident of the area a week or so back to provide information on a product. Her description of the area suggests it's a nice area.

Cedar Lake used to be a pretty nice getaway. But in recent years, I believe it has become pretty run down. I base this on the fact that (I am a criminal defense lawyer) a lot of drug cases in Canadian County have come from the Cedar Lake area. Seems that it is pretty popular with those in the meth crowd. At least, there are quite a few cases that have come from there in recent years.

My parents have a place there. It is pretty nice for the most part and the board seems to be cleaning up some of the lots that don't keep up with maintenance. As for the cirme, I haven't seen any signs of that. The lake itself isn't huge. You can ski a little. It is a good size for waverunners, but not over ran by them.
