My wife and I ate here Sunday after church. It's located in Bethany across the street from Southern Nazarene University. This place used to be Barry's Chicken Ranch (ala Barry Switzer).I've eaten here a few times, but it has been a few years. For those of you who don't know, it is a Seafood/American restaurant owned by the quasi-famous chef from the former Der Dutchmans. They are famous for their stick-like hushpuppies that you dip in butter (mmm, delectable). I had the steak fingers since I'm not a seafood person. They were excellent and tasted fresh and made from scratch. It came with fries and a caesar salad. My wife had the steak and shrimp. Both were good although the steak was lacking a little in flavor. It was a great cut of meat and super cheap on the price, especially for the quantity of food. I highly recommend this place. The coconut shrimp and hawaiian pineapple sauce is great.

Goodness gracious, if you go on a Sunday, prepare for a WAIT.
The word is out on that place-it's packed all weekend.

Probably because Nazarene-land is across the street with Bethany First Church and Southern Nazarene University. Two blocks away is the Nazarene assisted living center. The Nazarene's love hanging out at that place, but as far as the food goes, you can tell by my post above it is good and the price is right.

Food is great there, and the prices are reasonable. You do have long
waits on the weekend, though.

We ate there about three couple of weeks ago during NSU orientation weekend. The entire family hated the place.
The shrimp and catfish were undercooked, and the crab cakes were downright nasty tasting.
I really wanted to like this place because it's so close to NSU but there's no way I'll go back.

sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I've had nothing but good experiences there and heard the same from others. I'd give it another shot before writing it off. I'm also assuming you mean SNU (Southern Nazarene University) not NSU.

My mistake. Yes, I meant SNU. We'll probably break down and go back to the restaurant. I'm usually willing to give a place a second chance but it will be long time before we do so.

That place is like a Nazarene hangout so if your kid is going to SNU, I'm sure they'll be going with their friends occassionally. There aren't many choices over in downtown Bethany.

I've thought about trying Harbor House a few times. I guess I'll go on a weeknight to avoid the crowds. Luckily, if it's that busy, they probably have good turnover on their seafood. I've been looking for a really good place to get fish in OKC. The drive to Tulsa to hit the White River Fish Market is too much for anything but special occasions.
