Does anyone know what is going in here? It was recently painted white and blue on the exterior and looks like sufficient remodeling has taken place. This is fairly recent work.

OKCGRL99 06-25-2007, 03:17 PM I saw that on Saturday and was wondering the same thing! The only thing I can think of that is blue and white is IHOP's! lol that would be an awfully big IHOP! LOL metro 06-25-2007, 04:53 PM No, I seriously doubt it's an IHOP, there is one a mile and a half west almost to Council and another about 2 miles east at Belle Isle. I imagine it will be a local restaurant concept. SuperScooper 06-25-2007, 07:24 PM I think it is about to be a pawn shop. I regularly read the land sale transactions listed in the Oklahoman. I could have sworn the buyer was listed as Fast Cash Pawn. I could be wrong. OrangeKnight 06-25-2007, 07:58 PM I'll so miss Harry Bear's fried cheese and honey mustard...:( I know there's a Harry's in Yukon and Moore but it's not as close as that one... I'll have to trek over to Moore or Yukon before those stores vanish too. OrangeKnight 06-26-2007, 06:01 PM Orange Knight, I miss Harry Bear's fried peaches and special sauce. Mmmmmm. Wow. metro 06-27-2007, 09:23 AM There's always the Arts Festival Yeah, I get them at the Arts Festival. For some reason they are not as good there. Perhaps because it is partially run by volunteers? jbrown84 06-27-2007, 09:50 AM I work across the street and I've been wondering about what's going on for several months now. The pawn shop theory may be right, as I saw them hauling out all the kitchen equipment a few weeks ago. metro 06-27-2007, 04:14 PM I sure hope it's not a pawn shop, but sadly I can see that being a reality too. That would sure tarnish that area and probably only cause further blight to the surrounding restaurants. I'm sure it will stay busy with the area just SW of there with the Woodlake, Lyrewood and other apartments just off of Wilshire. jbrown84 06-27-2007, 04:58 PM A pawn shop really doesn't belong next to Joe's Crab Shack. It's a nice intersection. It will look very out of place. SuperScooper 06-27-2007, 08:37 PM According to the county assessors website, Fast Cash Pawn LLC is the owner of that property. Leonard Sullivan Oklahoma County Assessor Real Property Detail Sheet (http://www.oklahomacounty.org/assessor/Searches/AN-R.asp?ACCOUNTNO=R188512520) I think it is safe to say that a pawn shop will be open soon. Unless Fast Cash Pawn is going in to the restaurant business. CCOKC 06-28-2007, 02:59 PM When I drove by there yesterday I noticed it looks pretty pawn shoppy. jbrown84 06-28-2007, 03:00 PM Yeah, I saw it today too. sigh. |
